Has anyone got the Nexus S? I'll be having one early next week. Just wanted to hear some thought's on it, I'm moving from the Desire but this phone should get Honeycomb/Icecream first.

I looked at both when getting my desire a few weeks ago and just did not like the feel of it. Looked very plasticy and tacky. Cheap plastic compared to the desire.

All the reviews i have read though seem positive. Try cnet.com they are good for reviews

Cheers mate,

I agree about its looks, typical Samsung really isn't it? The Galaxy S wasn't great to look at either if I remember. I've only gone with it as I've been having numerous problems with my current Desire and they've suggested that I can have this for the rest of my contract, which I'm fine with as I'll probably be able to flog it for more when that comes along in a years time.

I'll miss my Desire though, it's beaten the Nokia 3310 and Sony K800i as the best phone I've used.

Just found an app on the newsgroups.  TV Show Streams.  Absolutely brilliant!

You can find almost any tv show on there, and full series.

Just tried it out.  Just watched a bit of Alf, original Batman.  Even newer stuff like Raising Hope, Entourage, The Wire, 24.

Got to give this a nudge and Fanxxxxtastic the credit a truly super app from android. best £3 you can spend

There is a Racing Post app - which you can bet with William Hill on.

There is no BetFair 'app' but if you go on the betfair webpage you can put a shortcut on your desktop for the mobile website- quite handy

Excellent app called Shelves available free (ad supported) from the Market which uses the free barcode scanner. Makes cataloging your dvd/book/music collection much quicker. It allows you to scan book, game, cd, and dvd barcodes, gets the details of the items and enters them all in a database.

It does that too. There is an option to scan an item's barcode, and find it in your database. If it doesn't find it, it tells you.

Also an option to mark items as loaned.

Just spent best part of 90 mins scanning most of my dvds and marking who has borrowed them.  :-[ I'm sad. I know.

No expert when it comes to any of this stuff, but the data management thing here on the phone says you can "send to Google Docs". Sends your collection to Google Docs as a spreadsheet. Files must be less than 1MB

In Settings->Export->Export Books/DVDs choose the format you want to output (csv, tsv etc). File is stored in the top level directory of your SD card (/sdcard).

Has anyone else had trouble with installing Samsung Kies on the PC for the Galaxy S? Got a Galaxy S yesterday, and the program refused to co-operate at all.

When you go on top paid apps and the price is crossed out like this "£5.25" does this mean they are free? Or are all the free apps in the actual free apps section but there is just more than there normally would be in the normal market?

I hope you get what I am trying to say ;D

EDIT: Just seen some videos on YouTube and looks like they are.
