He did okay, considering the circumstances. Had to come into a team he doesn’t know, playing the 6 without having the normal coverage around him.

Only joined yesterday. Only found out we were interested a couple of days before that. Even Klopp said he's slept very little.

Thought he took up some good defensive positions, which was absolutely the right thing to do, considering we were a man down and two goals up. A bit slow, but I have a feeling he doesn't need to be that fast, he'll do a lot with good positioning. Reckon he'll be an important player when we have to have control of the midfield.

The vast majority of players coming into the madness of a Premier League midfield as a six are going to going to need time to adapt. It isn't just the pace but the lack of positional discipline that catches players out. Premier League midfielders are overly aggressive on the press. They press when they shouldn't and that takes time to adjust to.

Sound debut, looking forward to seeing him starting (might be sooner than later if Mac's red doesn't get rescinded) when he's fully up and running and actually trained with the lads.  Looked a confident little player and didn't shy away from wanting the ball when in tight spaces.

Welcome Endo. That was a good debut performance given the situation he is coming into. To step onto the pitch for a side he hardly knows and players he has not played with even in training, that was quite good. If he is good enough to play against the bottom 10-14 teams, we should be good. Against the very top teams we may need someone more physical and tactical. It is much better than not having a specialist DM. Who knows he may well be the new Millie.

I like the look of him. Very tidy today indifficult circumstances. He was constantly scanning play trying to position himslf to block or intercept ,just what we need.

You’ll have to explain to me how saying he looks very slow (which he does) is daft and how training is going to improve that.

I’ve no idea whether this will be an issue on-going but I suspect it will be considering the importance of the role.

He had a very solid debut. Took up some nice positions and was always available for the pass. We’ll see how he settles in.

Alright mate, perhaps I was being a bit harsh lumping you in there, but there may just be reasons for him being slow, like he only rocked up yesterday after jumping off a flight and thrown into an unknown system with 10 men and not knowing that role. Perhaps give it a couple of games to reserve judgement. We all know he’s not the next usain bolt, but give him a chance!

He literally didn't know the names of the guys he was playing with.    I know the names of the guys who show up for pick-up on friday nights better.
 
Not too bad considering. Clearly a natural 6 which is very good to see. He made more defensive plays in his first 5 mins than Mac did in an hour. Not dissing Mac hes done ok and better than anyone else but hes an offensive player its clear. Too small all well, for me. He's like 5.7 160. Im bigger than him. He was just getting tossed aside here and there.  Endo not the tallest but hes got a good frame

I’ve said earlier in the thread that I’m open-minded on his overall display and what he can contribute, my concern is he looks very slow and I’m not sure training sessions will significantly improve that with a 30-year old player.

That can all explain how he looked slow man. Not being in the right position to catch up to a player, not know if he should bomb forward or stay back, hesitation one way or another.

Being physically and mentally tired from everything this week.

I already said he's probably not slept for the last two nights. Now Kloppo has come out and said the same. Have you ever in your life tried to do anything athletic with little sleep and little preparation? You don't think he can run a little quicker and react a little faster when he's up to speed?

Anyway tiredness mental and physical can all lead to someone being slow.

he hadn't slept for 2 days and was almost certainly mentally exhausted.  that affects anybody's foot speed.  I don't know why everyone's jumping to conclusions.
