Just watched East Is East on C4, this masterpiece over the end credits.

Fanger & Schonwalder - The Ricochet Pt 2

(very Tangerine Dream-esque.....)

Can't find a YouTube link - but if anyone tries their sound and likes it, I'll gladly send you an mp3 of this track above - it's pure energy <3

'Grease' by Frankie Valli/The Bee Gees would be regarded as a solid disco banger were it not written for the mediocre film.

What a lyricist he is. Rage, controversy, unapologetically laying out the hypocrisy of the system right there - speaking for millions, oppressed by centuries of institutionalised racism (and genocide...)

The family are enjoying a Pet Shop Boys night tonight in the absence of the postponed gig.
I have asked friends and family to contribute tracks to a playlist, which for any RAWK PSB fans is available here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2BTouLhWZHNtB8uD1WOKV4?si=GBLRfiMDR-mPO4Eu2LE8PA

I've become slightly obsessed with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYjIlHWBAVo it's Nightwish performing 'Ghost love score' live. It's the vocals of Floor Jansen that  amaze me, especially the last 3 or 4 minutes. It's just incredible. What a voice!

Fantastic. His BBC concert from 1973 (I think?) is well worth a half-hour or your time if you haven’t seen it already. Such an effortless talent. “Make a Smile for Me” is a gorgeous song of his as well.

Fuzz Against Junk: Fuzz Against Junk (2004)

Totally new to me. Saw their name reading stuff on the weekend and liked their name so... didn't think I'd be ordering the CD only album from Discogs for a whopping £7 pretty soon after. Based in Bristol and have members of The Heads and Beak in their midst. There's a definite Roni Size twang dotted about too.. see if you can spot it. But this ticked loads of boxes... even a small peck to the Buttholes in amongst this sometimes delightfully light but then dark and skronky devilish jazz fuzz. Yer man from Portishead produced it.

2nd track after noodling about for their first.

Had a big Eurythmics session last night, brought on by a song by a different band mentioned in the Music Association thread.

I'd forgotten how good they were (in my opinion) and will go through a few more after work.

I'll have to dig that concert out. Had a look on youtube caught the odd track which was on there. Was actually listening to it being sung near Lafayette Square by the protesters and it still sounded beautiful. Oh 'Justments'. Yeah, you're right. Although 'Can We Pretend' was the song which stood out to me on first listen.

Currently listening to this artist from Brisbane, Australia.

Reminds me so much late 80's early 90's - has a Cranberries/Cure feel to it.

I've had a few long track listens this week that have been very satisfying, uplifting even. The World Is A Ghetto by War, over 10 minutes, but not a second of fat to it
https://www.youtube.com/v/ptIcert_Ra8 .
Then, I listened to something to see if another band was any good, and straight after youtube automatically played the Dave Matthews band with  Warren Haynes covering Neil Young's Cortez the Killer.
https://www.youtube.com/v/aCiLCo-LoUg
I hadn't listened to even a note of this lot before this came up, and I totally love that track, so this one was worth a go. It was excellent. Then a Van Morrison bootleg from 1984 and a Sun Ra gig from 1983. Also only recently heard Calexico with Iron and Wine live in a New York park exactly a year ago this weekend, a superb show. I have a few Iron & Wine lps, but this blew them out of the water, they fit together like a glove, but apparently have only worked together a few times.
