A knock from the LFCTV commentary.

Could miss only one game or require a trip to Lourdes, knowing our luck.

Lost 4-3

Kostas and Naby missed, Clark, Carvalho and Darwin scored.

i think with friendly games that penalties are a clever idea forget the silly point but the frama of trying to win a penalty shootout againts another team must be good for those keepers n players asacually taking them rather than practist againts your own team mates in training i see it as a posative thing

for those who were able to watch it .... who stood out (good or bad)?
Matip had a good game, solid defensively and assisted the first goal with a typical mazy run.
Bajetic played the 6 role well all game. He covered the ground and was tidy in possession.
Robbo and Kelleher should have done better for their goal. Ox was the quietest first half.
Second half was a bit more disjointed but we still pressed well all game.
Nunez was sharp and clumsy at the same time. Doak was a livewire.
And a shout out to Frauendorf who played right back in the second half. Didn't let the side down.

Good to see a few goals, should make Darwin feel a little better after a tough few weeks. Doak looks such a prospect, sometimes it feels like we should just unleash him off the bench to cause chaos.

How did Naby do?
He was fine. Passed well, broke up play, lots of little short passes to nearby players, one long forward pass which didn't lead to anything (not as sumptuous as Clark's), towering header to win a ball in the 91st minute.

Almost everyone did well, pretty much, except a bit of sloppy, defending for their goal. One or two were a bit passengerish but no point in pointing fingers after a friendly

I was particularly impressed with him falling on his arse, twice, followed up by taking his first goal like a true striker. ;D

And he certainly loves a shot. Just need someone ready for the tap ins when the goalie doesn’t hold on to the ball

Guilty pleasure here and I generally hate international football. I know I shouldn't have enjoyed it but I did.
That said, I can't recall looking forward to a December League Cup tie as much as this week's one, especially after the Milan game. Nunez really looks up for it.

Exactly, this World Cup was refreshing break from the cheating refs, opposition fans singing disgraceful songs and City/Pep cry-arsing their way to another title.

Some people try too hard to hate on the WC.

I don't love it because of England, not at all.

I love it because it's groups of lads from the same nation giving everything for their country. The clash of styles is great too, the culture..... And there isn't a state funded team in sight that spunks billions to crush their rivals.

It's great.

My thoughts are in general. And the people that generally say they hate international football/tournaments.

Did the players, playing for their country have any bearing on who this WC was award to? No. They turned up wanting to do their best for their country. I appreciate this, and the fact that other nations are patriotic - even if I'm not personally.
