School strike 1985 in protest at the YTS - anyone remember this? 

I was literally the only one from my school who went - the head gave me hell the next day, cos stupid arse here was seen at the Pier Head with a big black flag saying FUCK THE YTS on it....

The big Liverpool a socialist council banner outside the town hall , that council puts others to shame with its urban regeneration scheme , in three years it knocked many of the slum dwellings down and build proper houses , bungalows , flats , sports centres and Everton park , imagine any council trying to show the will and determination to do this now
