Perdika looks a good price to me today. Gets a stack of weight and doesn’t have much to find on ratings. Battle hardened and match fit too. Buick’s on her and so am I.
I really like her too and will be backing her

Hopefully this ends better than the last time we backed the same one

Chaldean a good winner there but Royal Scotsman ran a blinder considering nothing else could make up ground at all in that ground. It was horrible.

Excellent but wet day at Newmarket. Managed to find a few winners and left in good profit despite having my biggest bet of the day on Auguste Rodin who was very disappointing

Hoping for Tahiyra to blast them like they’re a group of handicappers. She’s not a betting proposition now though.

Do you think Mammas Girl can make a dent? I remember you being very impressed by her.

I'm going to Leopardstown today; hoping to pick a diamond from a load of coal  ;D

I'm thinking Proud and Regal will get the job done at 3:25 and am quietly confident that Goldana will win the 2:50; was very impressed when I saw her at the Curragh and today's trip is apparently even more suitable given her overseas form.

What a race. Two very good fillies. Given the prep and likelihood she wants further that’s a very nice Oaks prep for Tahiyra

Shit day. My Leopardstown NAP was a non runner and a horse I dismissed because my NAP was better won at 9/1! Also had Tahirya and Proud and Regal was disappointing. To cap it off a 25/1 I had got reeled in late. Racing eh?

Running Lion looked very good earlier, not sure she’ll stay the Oaks trip but she wasn’t stopping today.

Anyone just see Savethelastdance win by half the track at Chester. Not sure she really enjoyed the course either, never seemed totally settled, then just took off round the final bend. She’s not beaten anything of note but that looked sensational

She’s clearly a player for the Oaks after that. Arrest for Gosden is an insanely talented colt too.

Thankfully I took some of the 14/1 last night about Arrest, 6/1 still seems reasonable, although there are a few trials yet to be run. Certainly rather take 6/1 Arrest than the same price for Auguste Rodin off the back of their last runs

Having said that Arrest does have a bit of a knee action so probably would prefer it softer, looked a little awkward coming round the final bend too so will probably need to handle Tattenham Corner better

Definitely caught my eye, first time I've seen the horse and was one of those eye catching moments of acceleration that just obliterate the opposition we've seen from some top class horses.

Theoryofeverything running in a handicap off 94 tomorrow. You’d like to think he might have a bit up his sleeve despite being top weight. 7/2 seems a fair price to see

In 30+ years of attending the Roodee no other performance has given me such a "wow" factor as Savethelastdance.  Hope she is the real deal.

Arrest did it easily.

I saw her win at 20/1 at Leopardstown last month. An impressive and surprising win at the time but didn't show anything to suggest yesterday was likely!

Definitely caught my eye, first time I've seen the horse and was one of those eye catching moments of acceleration that just obliterate the opposition we've seen from some top class horses.
I had the same feeling watching Maximum Impact on debut at Leicester in April. Tracked the horse but missed his second race; a comfortable win in a Class 2, albeit at Evens.

Theoryofeverything couldn’t ever get a position and was in the wrong place when a sprint for home developed, so can probably be forgiven today, but it was disappointing he don’t pick up a bit better, perhaps the ground?

James Doyle was a bit behind when they passed us but it felt like she had every chance if good enough (3f to go).  Would suspect the ground blunted her chance.

Looking forward to Call My Bluff winning the Chester Cup tomorrow!

I think Gweedore has a decent shot. I quite like Baryshnikov to win the 2:05 and repeat last year's success.

Until Savethelastdance dotted up last week I was leaning towards backing Infinite Cosmos for the Oaks. Interested to see how she goes tomorrow, certainly wants to be winning this well to be considered now

Could Gather Ye Rosebuds defeat her today? Looked highly impressive on debut. Savethelastdance is a very strong favourite now for the Oaks, Running Lion is interesting at 10/1 though.

Very nice performance from Soul Sister there. Infinite Dream not quite there yet, but the winner should provide a good challenge to Savethelastdance. Possible the ground may make the difference

Won by 4 lengths after getting beat 22 and change last time out. Horse racing is as bent as a nine bob note when you sit back and think about it. Trainer said the filly would be suited by a sounder surface. Yeah, by 26 lengths apparently…

I think you are bound to get lots of horses totally turning form round this week, with so much Heavy/Soft ground all Spring, this is the first big meeting where we've had true Good to Firm ground.

Until I drop dead I wont buy that surfaces make that much of a difference. It’s ridiculous. We’re not talking 3 miles chases. Any flat horse that improves by that much from one run to another the trainer should be dragged in and dealt with.

Also the same horse that won a maiden on soft going at Doncaster where it can be extremely testing but next time couldn’t raise a gallop on the same going? It’s bollocks. They think we’re stupid.

Anyone backing anything in the Dante tomorrow? Seems really open.

Might take a chance with Passenger. Hasn’t got the level of form of some of the others, but Stoute’s don’t win first time up that often and the fact they’ve supplemented him suggests he’s going well.

The Dante looks like an inferno for betting slips  :P

You're right, any one of several have a chance. I suppose it is never a good idea to overlook the Dettori/Gosden partnership in races such as this so Epictetus may end up being my bet. However, the winner will probably be a horse that inexplicably improves 26 lengths  :D

Think you can put a line through that lot in terms of this years Derby. Not saying he’d have won but I dont think Kingscote could have changed direction and run into anymore horses if he tried

Running Lion more likely to go for the French Oaks which looks quite a decent race this year

Indeed. It's just a shame that the draw bias is so strong. There are some lovely french horses this year. Blue Rose Cen is an obvious one (bit of a worldy she is) but you've also got Pensee Du Jour, Jannah Rose, I think Lindy could still be very good, and there's been a couple of eyecatchers for the boys too, especially Feed the flame who could well be a consideration for the Arc (33/1) and Big Rock.
Running lion looks beautifully like her sire and 1m2f sounds like it's bang on according to the camp.
P.S: I don't know how many people are well aware of this but if you bet on french races and take the going into consideration, especially for our raiders, then know that french going is given as being considerably softer than what we would rate it over here. Very soft/soft is about equal to our good/good to soft, for example.

Lockinge today. Wide open and for me it totally depends on the pace. If Mutasaabeq tries to repeat his last run then it could open up nicely for those wanting a solid mile maybe more, the likes of My Prospero and Lusail, but if it becomes a dawdle and a sprint finish...well, name your winner from that - Modern games or Chindit maybe.

I'm taking Mutasaabeq in one bet, My Prospero in another and I've got Lusail at 40's EW.

I’ve also landed on Mutasaabeq for the Lockinge, but there’s quite a few who may still have improvement so it’s hard to call.

Chindit has been a cliff horse for me, I would’ve backed him against Shergar at some points but if he eventually wins one of these it will not reflect well on the race.

Jabaara, the winner of the first at Newmarket could be very, very smart. A race won by Cachet and Mawj the last couple of years. She was a first timer and quickened up in the style of a group horse at a bare minimum. Maybe the Albany next, but Varian has some tools in the shed these days.
