Jerry Springer has passed away at 79https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2023/04/27/jerry-springer-talk-show-host-dies-79/11751126002/
Horrible show. Virtually gave rise to reality TV and gave people a stage for abhorrent behaviour and provided 'entertainment' to the masses by laughing at people. Also included in that category is Jeremy Kyle and Maury Povich.
Spot on.Cashing in on some other poor bastards' misery and the people who watched this shite are as bad, if not worse.
You know the Springer show was faked right? We had a lady in the office who was on it. Completely and utterly faked. Not denying it's a crap show and mindless stupid entertainment but not true.
Could be true. But it did spawn the Jeremy Kyle shite and plenty of others.
While speaking to Australia's The Morning Show (February 2023), Jerry was asked by hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gilles how real the show was.He responded: "I'd say it was 98% real. In fact, the lawyers were involved, you'd get sued if you made it up."Jerry explained that before the episode was aired would-be guests would explain their situation while the cameras were rolling, and they would "liable" if they made it up.He described how the guests would "perform" on the show, just like celebrities do on late night TV.The showbiz veteran said: "The situations were truthful. What was embellished probably, not probably, certainly, was the reactions. Because you had the audience screaming, 'Jerry, Jerry!''"They'd seen the show 100 times before. And so you could have the same people on Oprah and they would have behaved perfectly."It's just that when they came to our show, they kind of knew the drill and they just behaved like that."
Ray Stevenson 😟 Only 58 too 😯RIP
Played a great role in ‘Rome’. Came across as quietly menacing.Very sad.
Glenda Jackson has passed awy at 87.
She seemed the sort of woman who was too strong to die
IT'S TURNING LEFT!
Only just read that Julian Sands had gone missing in the Californian mountains five months ago. Apparently they've just found human remains but they've not been identified yet.
RIP. A figure in many good films (Glengarry Glen Ross, Wait Until Dark, Catch-22, The In-Laws, Freebie and the Bean, Little Murders, Argo)
i would argue Arkin was a unique talent, i can't think of anyone else like him and i loved his shitadios dude, some great classics left for us to enjoy before we're fucked as well
Who would have thought liverblokes no draws idea would not be his worst idea of the weekend
Sad to hear that Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman has died age 70. Pee Wee’s Big Adventure is one of the best films of the 80s and bears repeated watching. A gent who encouraged thousands of young people to be themselves and that being different was a good thing.
Yeah sad to hear, I mean people will remember him for his visit to the movie theater but really he shouldn't be.
'Mark Margolis, star of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, dies aged 83':-www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/mark-margolis-death-breaking-bad-scarface-b2387858.htmlI remember mostly him for playing Jimmy in The Equalizer (original series) - quality actor. RIP.
