International weekends.

I’m so fucking bored.

Ha ha. I was about to post the same.

Asking for a discarded Kop seat out of piles of them at the ground today, only to be told "no".  :-\
Often there's a rationale for such decisions but in this case I really can't think of one. The guy has obviously been instructed to say no and it just seems mean.

Yep, I'm sure he's been told to say no. Maybe the club are paid for the seats by the company that makes the pellets out of them? I don't really know.

Is it because they just don't want people turning up all the time asking for them?

To be honest, it just feels tight arse to me. Genuinely, if I were the club I'd let fans take them willingly, one seat per person. It's little things like that which help fans feel valued just a little bit. A tiny bit of goodwill that costs nothing.

If they were going to a lower league club to help them out, I could understand. If they were being sold or auctioned off, again, I could understand. But they're just going for scrap. I think what really pissed me off was that I'd just been in the club shop at the ground and would love to have bought the black away top but I'm priced out of doing so. I mean £125 for a shirt. It's insane. Then you go outside and politely ask if there's any chance of an old seat that's going for scrap, and it's a "computer says no" moment. It's a bit sad really. No big deal in the scheme of things, of course. But it sort of strikes you that you can pay into a club for fifty years or more but they still won't even give you piece of scrap plastic. To a lot of fans, they're scrapping pieces of our history. Bits that many would love to have as a souvenir of their lifelong commitment.

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long, and you've burned so very, very brightly, Jürgen.

Yeah it seems a weird one. Even if they were being paid by the recycling company it won't be more than a quid a seat or something small like that. If they were intent on some ££ then they'd easily have got more allowing local fans to turn up and get one for a tenner or something.

Yep. I'd pay that. A little piece of Kop history sat in your own home. I mean they must know that this kind of thing means a lot to so many fans. The club sold individual bricks from the original old wall when the Main Stand was redeveloped. I mean a brick, for goodness sake. But thousands of fans bought them because it's part of the fabric of the place many of us have been frequenting virtually all of our lives.

We got a tap that has a cold water filter and produces chilled water. It also produces boiling water within seconds.

When the missus wanted one, I thought it was a complete waste of money.

Now we've had it for a while I wonder how we ever did without.

Saves loads of money too as the water is pressurised and always nearly boiling - being maintained with a constant heat only to go to the boil when you open the tap.

got back from vacation last night, been away 10 days.

went out to cut the grass in the back garden this morning, first thing I saw was a dead rabbit on the lawn.

not just dead - been ripped apart (likely by a raccoon) with its entrails spread all over the fucking place.

lovely start to the day.

Nowhere near as serious but I remember way back in my retail days sitting on the only open till, the evening cashier was supposed to be working from 6. At 6:05 I see her swanning down from the stairs up to the break room, I think "finally", and instead of relieving me she follows the supervisor into the front office and they start chatting (think they were quite pally). At this point she was getting paid, and I was doing the work. After what felt like another 10 minutes but probably wasn't (but was definitely enough time to ensure I was going to miss my bus and get home half an hour later than planned) I signed off the till, went and took the key to the office, threw it on the side and just left without a word.

I barely knew the girl as we didn't work the same shifts but thanks to that one event I will always remember the name Nataki.

Different situation when you've got a legal duty of care, honestly sounds such a crappy situation to be in.

Prices of olive oil now, went into Tesco express & it is £7.35 for a 500ml bottle of extra virgin olive oil, of course their is no own brand version available in my local store as they stopped stocking [although other stores stock it]that for the more expensive brand when prices started to go through the roof, i seem to remember it was £3 for a 1ltr own brand bottle a couple of years ago.

So much so i've started buying rapeseed oil from Heron Foods instead, much cheaper, & i believe much healthier too.

Car tax - why is it higher if you pay monthly? Why punish those who might not be able to drop a ton+ at once? It's based on your specific vehicle - paying by direct debit doesn't change your engine's emissions.

Yeah I use rapeseed oil instead too. Less sat fats. But make sure you get enough omega 3 as seed oils are abundant with omega 6, which can cause inflammation if you aren't getting enough omega 3. I take fish oil supplements.

People vaping where it’s prohibited continue to annoy the fuck out of me.
It’s clearly not allowed on the train, on the bus or sat watching the match at Anfield  but in the last couple of weeks I’ve been near people in all those locations who think it’s ok.
I don’t want that sickly smelly vapour anywhere near me.
These people have these vapes stuck to their wrist and puff on them all the time.
I know there’s probably bigger things to get mad about etc… but it’s what annoys me at the moment.

Prices of olive oil now

Drought, extreme heat, wildfires across the Med. Production decreases globally by volume every year, and it's not down to reduced demand. My partner's Greek and won't be without good olive oil in the house for salads, I read earlier this year that in some shops in Spain were having to secure large bottles to the shelves as they'd become such a high value target for thieves.

Climate change is going to affect food supply globally it seems. A typhoon has wiped out huge swathes of grains and Bananas in China.

I've definitely had to cut down on it and I'm more selective on when I use it compared to Rapeseed/Vegetable oil.

I can't remember the last time I bought olive oil due to the price but I can't get rapeseed oil on the island so I'm stuff with yucky vegetable oil.

The other thing I just can't get here is French mustard!!

No idea if that's a Brexit thing but it's getting very annoying 😡

I can't remember the last time I bought olive oil due to the price but I can't get rapeseed oil on the island so I'm stuff with yucky vegetable oil.

The other thing I just can't get here is French mustard!!

No idea if that's a Brexit thing but it's getting very annoying 😡

Actually vegetable oil in the UK is generally just rapeseed oil, but it's not the good quality cold pressed stuff.

Do you mean dijon or that mild dark brown stuff they used to sell? My dad always used to order steak with mustard at a Beefeater in the 80s and they'd ask "English or French", turned out that the 'French' variety was nothing of the sort, just some other Colmans brand that was discontinued years ago.
