So sorry to hear this as the way everyone was egging him on to get better with some crazy witty posts just tells me he will be missed by many here. RIP and my condolences to his family.

I didn't know Carl, neither did i interact with him on here.

However.

My work touches on addiction issues quite heavily sometimes. On numerous occasions I showed clients some of Carl's posts on the alcohol thread as it was an authentic representation of the terrible struggle.

So, this fella's words touched and inspired more than he was aware of perhaps, and I genuinely hope that there are crumbs of comfort in that knowledge for the family.

Shit, that's so sad. I only came on here briefly yesterday and the last update seemed to be that he was getting better. As someone who drinks too much myself that's a real eye opener. Very very sad news and condolences to all of those who knew Carl and obviously to his family.

Didn't have the pleasure of meeting Carl in person but had a few chats with him on here and Facebook over the years.

Although at times he was hard work for the mods we all had a soft spot from him and he will be missed by everyone on here.
