Bizarre how a rough patch (this one being relatively mild compared to the others) brings this to the fore. The man has been operating at the elite for 14 years without the cash cow benefits his peers have. Insanity to think he is done.

Well he is done, said so himself. But only for a year. Lots of stress taking on the cheats year after year, so a rest would do him good. Still don't see why we can't put our Pep in charge for a season and Klopp has a year off. He's still better than all the managers were linked with.

It is not about Klopp being 'found out', or Klopp being a bad manager. The team looks flat and out of gas. The coaching staff cannot find a solution. The football is slowly becoming dreeary. A new coaching staff, new manager, and probably a few new players will inject new ideas and we can enjoy some good results.

Meanwhile,  let us enjoy the last 5 games with Klopp.

Because Pep is not interested in being a manager here (or rather wants to get experience somewhere else) and Klopp clearly does not want to continue managing in England.

Klopp is the greatest manager I’ve experienced in my life time, and in the best of worlds he’d stay here until he retires. But can’t help to wonder how much of his tiredness is being mirrored by the squad. His teams normaly play with as much energy as he showcases on the sidelines.

We’ll never know but, if he were staying I will always be curious to have seen what he did to address some of the issues that stretched back longer than the past couple of emotional months. Like the conceding first, considering that was an issue last year too.

He's the best manager I've ever seen in my lifetime, not just Liverpool.

But as horrible and out of the blue his announcement was, I think if he hadn't announced it and the season had transpired exactly the same as it has... we might be having some pretty heated conversations around whether it'd be for the best this summer anyway. I don't think we look stale, but I do think we could potentially benefit from a few different tactical changes and yeah....just a new era, as much as Klopp is an absolute icon.

I love Klopp more than life itself. I’d still be keeping my ringer on at night hoping that he’d call and say he’s changed his mind.

But the long goodbye is not completely healthy for anyone involved. It’s added a weight to every moment that we as fans, they as players, and he as him, are now having trouble sustaining. Every misplaced pass, every snatched shot is now fraught because it makes his dream farewell less likely. There’s no way this isn’t living in the heads of some of our players.

Yeah wasn't really thinking about what it means for him, just shocked at the news given Nagelsmann's links with Bayern and thought we might do something. I don't expect to see Jurgen managing again.
