I can't see any manager selling Alonso on just because he's Spanish, that'd be like an English bloke taking over Arsenal and flogging Henry.

I'd also expect Garcia to be a player that any manager would keep in his squad, especially as he seems to be improving all the time at the moment.

5 years is a long time things can change completely, for better or for worse. if you add 5 years, many of the players will be past their best and will be moved on

If you compare the 1980 side to that of 1985 theres a great deal of changes and the same again comparing 85 to 1990.

If Rafa is still here, there is a fair a chance that more than 6 of his players will still be here

Oc course this means that Cisse becomes the striker we all want him to be, though he's a long long way from that at the mo

Most of the Spanish lot will be gone because either Benitez will carry on performing miracles and he will be poached by Madrid taking Garcia and Alonso with him, or will be sacked after 6 years and the Spaniards wont hang around after he is gone.

Carragher is too much of a player's player to be here in 5 years. By that I mean, he is the type that wants to play every week and wont be happy sitting around Anfield as a bit part player. So I reckon in 3 or 4 years he will do a Thommo and move down a division or two for a couple of years before coming back in a coaching capacity. There is no doubt in my mind whatever thta he will definitely be a manager one day.

Gerrard will be at Chelsea. He will want to win the league in his career and assuming that Abramovich and his millions are around in 5 years, we wont win the league in that time.

Sissoko, if he develops, has the right age still to be here, possibly Warnock too. Obviously we dont know what impact Gonzalez will have.

But I think you will find rather like with Houllier that we will have an awful lot of this squd still here in 3 years, far fewer in 5 years and almost none in 6.

i'd say very few, look at how many are still here from six years ago. It all depends on how it goes over the next couple of years.

If it goes well and the trophies keep coming then i think a good few of the squad will be there. If Rafa stays then a lot of the spanish contigant will remain. If however it doesnt carry on as planned and Rafa goes will he not be looking to take players like Alonso, Sisoko (as hes done already), Garcia etc with him?

Must say i disagree with you on that one mate, I think being a bit part player at Anfield is better than being a regular in the lower league. For me Carra is one of a very small number of players thats are one club players.

Well I think it depends what you mean by one club player. I think it can either mean literally one club in a career, or one main club in a career. With Carragher I think it will be the latter; i.e. he will not consider ever playing against Liverpool in a top division but once it becomes clear that he is no longer good enough to play very often for Liverpool he will choose to prolong his career for a year or two in a lower division (expanding his football education in the process) before coming back to LIverpool as a coach.
In the same way that Thommo had a year or 2 at Sheffield United, he might do something similar at Crewe or similar.

i can not see rafa leaving us for madrid because he likes the fact he has so much responsability and i dont think he could go back to being just a coach .
