Half time: Liverpool 1-1 Burnley
« on: February 10, 2024, 03:50:06 pm »
Talk of comfortable wins and throwing kids on in the pre match thread always looked arrogant and so it's proving. We just haven't turned up at all.

Need to massively up the tempo and the intensity in the second half rather than expect Burnley to roll out the red carpet for us.
I've just wiped the sticky residue from my bellend onto the television screen. Taste it Leo. You deserve it.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Really poor performance.

We have been sloppy and fairly arrogant.

Pretty rubbish that, playing like the whole team has flu. Get Harvey on and play the team that should have started the game

Bar Jota no-one looks like they give a shit, pathetic. So complacent and slow since minute one.

Trent is a liability in defense, he is so easy to get past like for their corner which they score from.

Really poor that, look very disjointed and lacking in intensity. Crowd trying their best to give them a lift, players need to follow suit.

Really miss Bradley and his energy on that right flank. Him and Jota are probably our only direct players we have in the squad right now. Nunez maybe too to a certain point.

Awful defending from Endo on their goal.

5-1 we got this.

Understandably disjointed with a few players returning, playing out of position, etc. I thought we started to take control as the game went on and we had way more opportunities than the commentators gave us credit for, but then a bit of poor marking and suddenly we're level.

We really should go on and win this, as long as we have the legs for it.

Grim. 2nd best in every department at Anfield to Burnley.

Have they all got the flu or something?

No point playing Mac if we don’t get him on ball, midfield just isn’t progressing it or controlling game.

Drop Mac to 6, get Elliott on. And tell Diaz he is allowed to run forward with it, doesn’t have to pass it backward or shuttle it slowly inside every time.

Fucking hate Warnock the depressing c*nt.

Still think Diaz should go on the right as him always turning in from the left is so predictable.

Every bit as bad as last week. Zero intensity or energy. Losing most 50/50 battles. Perhaps many of the players are badly dosed with the flu. Can't use it as an excuse against a piss poor opponent though.

The ref has been shite.

Im guessing many of the players are unwell. If not, then the effort and intensity levels have been pathetic. Burnely would be 2-1 up were it not for our keeper pulling out a worldie save

The referee will book their keeper with about a minute left of play for time wasting just wait and see even though he's been at it since around the 5th minute. Cowardly b as tard.

The pace is too slow.

Passing around the back with not enough going forward. Diaz screwed up the one counter attack we had with a short pass.
