Awful news about a young player.


“Sheffield United's longest-serving women's player and vice-captain has tragically died at the age of 27.

Maddy Cusack, who was named vice-captain last month, had just started her sixth season with the team in the Women's Championship. She also worked as a marketing executive at the club, who said they were 'devastated' by her death.”

From England vs Scotland last night



I was having a look at exactly how many seasons she was at Sheffield for when I realised I watched what was her final appearance. She was subbed off at 60 minutes against Sunderland a few weeks back, with none of the fanfare of a last match because it wasn't supposed to be. RIP
