You'd be out of your mind thinking this is on Moyes honestly. Last year they just about got out of jail with every bit of luck in the world and Defoe hitting top form. Both have deserted them and they're left with nothing. Be interesting who goes down with them and Hull.
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence.

It's not Moyes but the dreadful squad Sunderland have, & it could be too late by the time Moyes is sacked, they've been like Villa in the brink  for a few seasons but it catches up with you, & like Villa i can't see them coming back up anytime soon as that squad is dreadful.
They were pretty decent after the January window last season .

On top of that he has spent £30mil and produced this woeful start .

Just yesterday they were looking decent till he decided to replace Kazhri with a defender and decided to hang on for a point against West Ham (who had the worst defence in the league ) with fifteen minutes to go .
He did exactly the same with Defoe against City and conceded goals at the death in both games .

Sunderland squad is bad he has a major part to play in their awful start .

It isn't all on Moyes, Sunderland have been poor for awhile, Big Sam did engineer an escape but clearly felt he needed reinforcements and wasn't getting them, the squad is poorer then it was last season. However Moyes hasn't done well, none of his additions seem to have worked, his negativity seems to stifling the side, can't seem to get them to concentrate for 90 minutes, it wouldn't be harsh for him to be sacked if this continues much longer.

Sunderland will need a rebuild in the championship.

Some of it clearly is, it's his tactics and him who chose to come in and "strengthen" the squad with some bums from Man Utd that no one has ever heard of and apparently Lorient couldnt believe their luck that they come in with nearly £14m for that Ndong fella.

it's moyes

people are saying 'well they only just survived thanks to an amazing run from allardyce at the end'. well yeah, that's called momentum. leicester did the same thing and started their next season (with a new manager, but same players) maintaining that momentum.

sunderland's squad is hugely inbalanced, but moyes contributed more to that than to actually improve it. his training methods have set in, hence the 5 or 6 muscle injuries they have at the minute. his cowardly approach to football has also set in. they've conceded more late goals than any other team for a reason. he's always too scared and too lacking in a playing style to do anything other than retreat and play negative in a desperate hope of not losing (always sticks, never twists).

sunderland are identifying a problem correctly - inconsistency between managers, and a poorly balanced squad - but are backing the wrong man to fix it. keeping moyes for the long term is only going to compound their future status as a championship club

HAHAHA!

the man's a mess. that's two interviews in a row he's been too seething to make any sense. rocking back and forth, while asking hypothetical questions of the interviewer and just exuding hate.

the man is done as a manager, unless he drops down to the championship or goes back to preston. his expectation managing form of leadership ("we're getting relegated", "we're smaller than liverpool", "we don't spend money") might still be bought by his old club.

I feel that too, think it'll be 0-0, they've actually been very solid under Moyes, just keep losing 1-0.

I'm off to see these playing the Arse tomorrow as a little half term trip out, after failing to get any tickets for us versus Spurs, despite the extra capacity.

It'll feel a little odd backing Moyes Boys, could they sneak a win?  I'm anticipating 4 or 5 for Arsenal, with huge numbers walking out when the 3rd or 4th goes in, and a torrent of abuse for The Chosen One, which would be a spectacle of sorts.

My only previous visit was to watch a 0-0 bore draw between Sunderland and Villa about 5 or 6 years ago, which was one of the worst games I've ever watched, but was salvaged by a decent night out in the Toon afterwards, but no chance of that this time around with child in tow.

Khazri...

Sums up Sunderland - inadequate technique, poor decision making, next to zero confidence, a vicious circle.

They need a fluke, a sudden unexpected stroke of good fortune. The football gods tend to reserve such things for others.

Meant to post this earlier, found it hilarious :lmao

I love the awkward silence between Moyes saying "I don't know who Kavanagh is", and the reporter replying "the referee". You could almost feel the surprise of the reporter, it feels like he almost took an extra second to evaluate if Moyes was trolling him or if he really was that ignorant.

A season with Mourinho at United, Moyes in the league, and Klopp at our helm, how truly wonderful.

the manager? The players? The board?

Bunch of bums these, the villa comparison is very apt, when you look at the other two relegated last season you had Norwich who are basically filled with players who are excellent championship/not quite PL level and Newcastle who just underachieved mostly under a shite manager but had decent players to build off (Perez, wijnaldum, sissoko, Janmaat, lascelles, Krul) from that squad of last season and they had a few they could/can shift for £10m+, genuinely can't see any of their squad going for much more than £5m bar Pickford at a stretch, maybe Kone seeing as the shite wanted to pay £20m for him in the summer. Need totally gutting.
