Adobe Photoshop?

Hey, I just wanted to find out if this software is any good? I don't have photoshop on my computer so i am thinking of installing it. But i have no idea on computer/softwares.
Do i need winzip? Coz i don't have that on me computer???

$unny, what do you plan to do with it? For editing photo's or for drawing and that?

Very doubtful you need photoshop, there are alternatives.

Winzip is a programme for compressing a number of files into one, for transfer round the web etc.

I think Windows can deal with zip files now, but if you need it, it's free. You will probably come across a zip file sooner or later.

Thanks Barney_Rubble. I just wanted it so i could mess around with pictures and make me own wallpapers and stuff.

I need an older version for my G3 imac. bought the computer on ebay. its quite cool, but wont run something like CS or CS2. Cant find photoshop 7 for mac anywhere

$unny, didn't mean to be rude - Photoshop is a professional programme for modifying photographic images but is way overpowered for most people - even some of the professionals I employ only know a fraction of what it can do. It includes colour separation for printing and other stuff you will never need.

The best alternative would be Photoshop Elements (about £50) which is a stripped down version for home use and will do everything you need. PaintShop Pro is a bit cheaper but is only on Windows (we use macs).
