To be fair, in the bookTyrion Lannister (the imp) doesn't sleep with any whores at Winterfell. That scene was gratuitous. A  first maybe: dwarf orgy in a mainstream show?!

I know it was put in to introduce the character of Tyrion to the audience, but I found that scene cringeworthy to be honest. When Jaime opened the door and all the girls ran in, they should've had the Benny Hill music playing over it.

Just have to say I think this show is the absolute shit. I haven't enjoyed an episode of anything in the last few years as much as I enjoyed episode five the other night.

Although there are some graphic scenes there all justified by the story arc, unlike some the horrible shit that Board walk empire routinely popped out.

Sean Bean is quality as Stark, as is the guy who plays the king.

Wouldn't go that for, but enjoyed episode 5, thought the fight at the end had some real aggression and manly pride in it... Grrwwahh 'ave it!

Agreed Sean Bean is boss

Sean Bean is boss, saw him in red riding recently, quality in that too.

Bang on about the fight at the end,  a proper thrilling manly action scene, reminded me of the fight scene between Liam Nesson' s Rob Roy and Tim Roth's Archie.

Apparently episode 7 is now available for US residents on HBO Go.

People who are not in the US might have some luck searching for "game of thrones S01E07 WEBRip" in google (or wherever else they usually search for such things)

Is the quality of the WebRip any good? I'm pretty much addicted to this now, but I'd rather watch it with the best picture quality, especially this show.

Another boss episode this week. The show just gets better and better week on week, and all those who criticised it early on are starting to look a little silly about now.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Apparently, the picture quality is not brilliant, but is better played in VLC.

Charles Dance is playing Tywin Lannister, Cersei, Jamie and Tyrion's father.

I couldn't resist watching it in the end. The most climatic episode of the series.

Spoiler from book

Spoiler
I do wonder if the show will hold its appeal to the less diehard audience once Ned Stark is dead. Sean Bean is a huge draw card and I wonder if he'll leave something of a hole for the producers to fill.

Cheers, think I'll wait till Monday morning and download it the normal way (I'm on Virgin, so don't have Sky Atlantic).

Gives me something to watch on the Bank Holiday anyway.

Looking forward to seeing Dance, that's a great bit of casting.

Maybe, but there are quite a few more characters to be introduced - the Blackfish, for one. Am interested in seeing who plays Blackfish. He should be introduced very soon.

Spoiler
I think the producers could have gone for big names for either John Snow or Robb Stark (or preferably, both) considering their important and heroic roles.

Watched the four latest episodes and I'm really into it now, so so good. A brilliant group of actors, great plotting and storytelling that has constantly surprised me in how it avoids the typical fantasy genre cliches. It moves at a fair old clip and doesn't pander to the audience, it challenges you to keep up. The brutal violence and gratious sex scenes are decent too :P

And holy shit, the "Golden Crown"... what a scene. Almost felt bad for him, and a homage to Ghengis Khan, no?  I will miss the character as I thought the lad playing him was brilliant, he had a really good handle on how to play with the material, his scenes were always entertaining. Though Dany was great in that scene as well, loved watching her character progress... she was completely in control and knowing.

To be fair, I've got a feeling that every English actor alive is going to pop up in this sooner or later, doubly so if they're from the north.  Robson Green, Christopher Eccleston, Phillip Glennister, Dean Andrews, surely it's a matter of time.
