Yeah, you don't want to end up in Borgin and Burkes after all.

Diagon not diagonal you heathens
I'm pretty positive that this is down to autocorrect on both counts.

Diagonal. Yep, there was the test.

Anybody worked out of Diagonal Alley will be on this yet?

Isn't that what Harry said while trying to say Diagon Alley

Bit more about the map here. Looks like it's a big one which is great news.

The article seems to think that Diagon Alley is in the game.

Just had a watch. It looks incredible. I'm really excited to explore the map. Its interesting the different ways you can get about. Quite like the thought of just popping out the broom and whizzing off.

The World looks really well done.

If anyone wants to pre-order the deluxe edition you can do so on Shopto for £62.85 with no payment due until it ships, just booked it in myself.

I really hope it's not overly style over substance. I'd like to think that when you find a little hamlet or house, there will be interesting characters, things to interact with or side quests.

Seems to be the case. But they aren't showing too much of that off yet. I'm quite glad to be honest. Don't want too many spoilers

I understand why some people are avoiding it but my thoughts are that the people developing it themselves have put loads of hardwork into it and have no direct links to JKR. Every new thing we see of it it looks incredible

I genuinely think it's just a loud minority. Can't see it impacting sales much at all.

Not long until this is released now, I’ve not been excited enough to even really know the release date of a gem for sometime.

Really looking forward to it and conveniently it’s released just after my exam.

Exactly the same with me. I usually wait for a game to dramatically come down in price, but I think I'm going to have to buy this in day one. £64...urgh.

It looks like it's going to be incredible though. The visuals of Hogwarts alone..

Looking forward to pottering about doing side missions and wandering through the grounds and beyond. I'm glad they've kept a lot secret. Adds more intrigue!

ShopTo have some good prices for this. Just looked and the standard editions are around £50 on PS5 and XBONE

Never used ShopTo before. Just had a look. Series X version £51. How does it work? I've read they send you a code?

Never bought a game that way before.

A lot of gameplay footage being released now in the build up to it coming out.

Its looking quite brutal, which is something I didn't expect!

The reviews are out and it's generally getting 8/10 and 9/10 which I'm pretty happy with. I didn't read too much into the reviews or watch much gameplay because I wanna enjoy and see most of it for myself.

However one line I did read from a reviewer was that side quests are somewhat basic which is slightly disappointing as I engross myself most with side quests in these big open world kind of games.

Either way, still pretty excited and i'm not even a fan of the Harry Potter films.

Yeah I figured the side quests would be small errands or whatever because it's claimed there's like 100 of them or something

Pre-order arriving tomorrow, really looking forward to it.

It’s the most I’ve looked forward to a game since I was a kid so in honour of that I’ll probably buy a shit load of sweets, pizza and energy drinks to play the game with. ;D

Having read a bit on it it seems quite BOTW esque, some very good ones, lots of fillers.

If that’s the case I’ll be happy enough.

Anyone been playing then!? Lets hear your early thoughts.

The reviews have been great. Even the absolute diehard Rowling fans I know are starting to change their tune. Looks like my best mate has given in and has ordered a copy.

I'm waiting to see what the Asda retail price is. The wife works at head office so she gets 10/20% off

I'm only a couple hours in but the combat is a lot more intuitive than I thought it'd be.

Also there's just SO much to do. So many things to collect and side quests and exploring to do. It's way too early for me to comment on the actual story though.

One thing I can tell you is it's easily gonna be a 70-80 hours game if you want to 100% it. Maybe more. Plus you can always play again as a different house.

One tip I would give people is don't ignore the side quests just to come back later because some of them are actually important to the story and you pick up new skills and spells as well.

Is this an MMO game?

Nope. It's a pure single player game.

Have played for slightly more than an hour and done the first handful of quests. Works decent so far 4K with high details. Have noticed two issues though that were also mentioned in a German review I watched. Capes look awful, because they seem to have terrible physics. They just flail about wildly and behave in no way how they do in real life. That's just a minor thing though. What's worse is that on PC I have random frame drops (mostly) during cut scenes, but also while actually playing. So far, it hasn't really messed up anything for me, but according to the review I've watched it can also happen during fight scenes which would probably be more annoying than just having a slightly stuttery cut scene. Apparently, it's a known issue and there could be a patch for it on the actual release day. According to the German mag they were told they'd get a patch  to improve performance for last weekend, but they didn't get it. There seems to have been a patch for today's early access start, but that seems to have changed very little. So, if you're on PC and don't have the game yet, you might want to wait a bit.

Interesting was looking for a new game to invest time in. Was gonna get it on computer as well, but might wait a bit for release day and see what happens.
