I'm playing this at the moment.
It feels a lot like the original Bioshock, but sometimes I think I'm back in Dishonored.
They have both got that animation sort of graphics.
I can't understand why all these reviewers are going on about how wonderful it looks.
I mean, it doesn't look all that much better then Bioshock from 2007.
I guess they use this cortoonish style to make it run on the consoles.
On the other hand, Skyrim was also playable on consoles, and that looks a bit more realistic.
It is a nice game, but it's so predictable.
Open a door, kill 10 enemies, look for food and ammo.
I like the skyrails though.
When they are involved I can hear my videocard going into freezer mode.
All that fast rendering !
I don't like the tear's much.
When they are around (everywhere ...) it's hard to focus on enemies with those tear's flashing on your screen.
Anyway, I'm quite interested how the story will unfold.
It's a really nice game, although I'm not squirting liquids about it like Adam Sessler ...

Can't get into this at all, haven't got to the girl yet and it's just boring me half to death.

The fights are piss easy (playing on medium) and even when you run out of ammo there's enough ways to kill someone that you can easily wait to find more.

Graphically it's nothing special either, much prefer Bioshock 2 to this.

Apparently playing on hard is the way to go.

Was going to get this, but after seeing the first hour of gameplay on a play through I'll probably swerve it.

Looks like it could get repetitive quite quickly.

You're missing the point about the graphics if you're just looking for how good it looks. It's not about graphical quality, it's about the world that they've created. There's something going on everywhere you look. You can just stare at the clouds if you want to and watch pieces of the city move about as they will, around every corner is an interesting npc interaction that serves to teach you more about the game world. One of my favorite moments of the game so far is the workers bidding minutes for a job, which you miss if you use the possession vigor on a vending machine to get coins.
All i want to see is Agger on the team sheet and scoring 6 goals with each one celebrated by punching the reporters in the face with his YNWA tattoo.

Actually that reminds me another way this is inferior to the original. You actually had to hack the machines there. It took quickness and a bit of thinking. Here you just use the vigor.

In the original you picked locks. Here you just found lock picks and sent the girl to do it. Meh.

In terms of storytelling and a unique plot, you can't really beat Bioshock. The ending was a mindfuck.

I really hope they do a movie.

Finished it.
It's a great story and if it had come out last year it would (should) have won Game of he Year.
There are some gameplay issues though.
Like tips on how to use this or that while in battle.
Most of the times I couldn't even see what they said because I was too busy trying to not die.
The field of view is horrible. They should have made that changeable.

The money in the game is completely useless.
I played the whole game without ever buying anything.
You spend a lot of time searching for items (money) while you don't even need it.
Same thing with the lockpicks.
At first you needed all of them in order to open all the boxes.
At the end of the game I had so many left that I could do the whole game over with them.

It's a great looking game with a great story.
I really enjoyed playing it.

Actually that reminds me another way this is inferior to the original. You actually had to hack the machines there. It took quickness and a bit of thinking. Here you just use the vigor.

I didn't even notice that hacking option.

I am about half way through I reckon, so far I am enjoyin it but would agree it's not as good as original, I like the sky city setting though, very cool!

The racism message is just wow, big balls to put that in a game!

Yeah I loved it. Will probs pick up the artbook for the game because Irrational Games have now to stand as one of the best gaming companies out there imo. Without ruining anything, the ending is about as memorable as it could be.

But I tell you what. I want multiplayer. It would be boss, if done right. It would be all I played, forever.

Seems to kinda lose the ambiance and atmosphere from the first two, no?

Yes, I agree.

I don't think the gameplay is as good either. I loved the claustrophobia of the first two, which gave the chaos a kind of order. Having it in the sky removes that order and at times I just find the gun battles too confusing and chaotic.

It all comes together in the end. Starting another playthrough.

Started it two nights ago. Liking it so far. Gun play certainly isn't a strength of the game though.

Also I chickened out and watched the jump scare video above so that I'll be prepared for it.  :-[

Finished this about a week ago. Very well made game and visually outstanding (PC). I was a little baffled by the start of the game, which threw me off completely, though. It just starts. That's probably the most accurate way of putting it. It's not a subtle build up at all. You're just hoisted into full on combat, and the first time you meet one of those enemies that throw the birds at you feels like a very early on boss battle. Bad pacing at the start, which is probably what puts a lot of people off. However, the game does pick up and consistently gets better as it goes along. There's some very well designed gameplay elements in there like the sky rail sections. Those were immense fun to play, and it looked fantastic the way you zipped about the place, particularly when fighting those things that I call "Mongo's"; those things that had the tiny heads and big arms. Those were bastards and the first one took me about half an hour to beat.
There was some nice little touches in there that I liked, like the use of modern music through the previous couple of decades that you heard being sung by people in a post WW1 style. Then there's the easter eggs in the time rips that you opened up: you could hear Cyndi Lauper in one of them. Strange to hear considering your settings, but still fits somehow.

Fantastic game, although I'd agree with what Waka said about the emphasis being more on story. Then again, that is symptomatic of a lot of games you play these days.

I think the point is that's the juxtaposition from where it all stems.

Could be wrong though. I think it's one of those endings where the player takes from it what they want, I.e their own personal view is just as viable as someone else's. kind of like a good film ending.

Great game.
