Read the front cover

Everton went out in the preliminary round without scoring a goal

Just to show they have a long history of raising expectations then dashing them

(I will admit though that they went out to the eventual winners)
They've never learned, have they.

Oh well, it's the taking part that counts I suppose.  :)

The eventual winners being Inter Milan. Albeit Inter didn't a dodgy ref and disputed goals to get past Everton.

Everton remain the FIRST (another) and only team from England to enter europe's premier competition and fail to register a goal, that is spread over about 60 competitions and significantly more entrants.

Cannot wait till we smash them in the first Derby.

Full strength team back and show them how far they are away from us on the pitch.

Cannot wait to see the combined Merseyside 11's again by Prentice and GoT during the build up. ;D

They have got a CL winning, Spanish speaking manager.
And word on the street is that Messi enjoys a bit of toffee.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

Well, they actually are.

Ancelotti had a holiday from football at Everton. He then left for a proper job at Real Madrid. Madrid are the main domestic rivals of Barcelona. Messi played for Barcelona. Link established.

Spare a thought for the blues potentially having to relinquish the Transfer Window Trophy despite retaining it for 5 years on the trot. PSG signing Gini, Ramos and Donnarumma is almost as good as Klaasen, Keane and Pickford. If PSG get Messi they may snatch the trophy as he’s marginally better than Gylfi Sigurdsson.

It never gets old watching him aimlessly and ineffectively flap those litttle stumpy arms of his.

As an aside, if you watch the Fernandes free kick closely, the order and speed in which his teammates run to congratulate him appears to be directly proportional to their actual pace.
