Since 18/19 Mancthony Taylor has refereed United on 23 occasions.

Tonight was the 9th penalty he has awarded United.

Nine fucking penalties in 23 games. I thought Trent and DeBruyne were good at assists.

In those 23 games he has given the opposition 2 penalties.

His ratio with us is 6:1 so on the face of it not crazily different. But, take away the past two games he’s done and it’s 3 pens in 24 games in a period that covers some of our best attacking football in decades.

That last bit is the crucial thing, that season when they had an even more stupid amount of penalties than usual, didn't we have more than double the number of touches in the penalty area and a fraction of their penalty total?

for sure, it's absolutely ridiculous that he allows himself to be put in that position, he should refuse to ref them

He shouldn't even be in the position of having to refuse, there's no way he should be getting assigned any of their games in the first place.
