That's my question too. I haven't read anything confirming either way, but maybe I haven't read the right things.

Presumabely they will build up behind the main stand and then so the work pulling it together in the summer.

The plan is to only carry out work that reduces capacity during the summer, so no loss in capacity at all.

That video is really good, is good to see how they're going to do it around the current stand. Shows a few more details (presuming that's closer to what we'll see built) than a few of the pics too.

Yeah Im sure I saw it on one of the initial Q&As. They have two 3-month windows to do all the capacity reducing work. I guess it's possible that we won't play an Anfield friendly before the start of next season (15/16).

Depends if you view the capacity figure as a dick swinging contest or the redevelopment to be something which is financially beneficial to the club and to a level which gives the best return.

For what it's worth, we have outline planning for the Anny Rd and will be dependent on if demand is there at the required price points to make it a viable option.

The Main Stand should look boss when it's done and the extra matchday revenues are needed and it should pay for itself within a few years as long as we're not back to being 7th for a few years and demand doesn't fall off a cliff.

What it will do is make the other 3 stands look outdated and small

Where are those figures from?

I imagine a huge chunk will be naming rights, and the rest will well be covered by the increased revenue (let's not forget it is adding a huge amount of corp seating.)

The Guardian's article about todays news, speculates that the club expect to get a £10 million naming rights deal for the stand and expect matchday revenues to go up by £20 million per season, so it may be a case of the extra revenue each season will payback the loan for the next 5 years, so there won't be any hit to our transfer funds from were they currently stand, but it would be 6 years before we see the benefit of the extra £20 million per season, personally if thats how it works out i am happy enough.

The cost of the redevelopment has been funded internally by owners Fenway Sports Group in the form of a loan which will be paid back over five years.
Ayre also expects new sponsorship opportunities to be generated by the stand with the possibility of naming rights for all or parts of the stand likely.
And while crippling debt under the previous regime of Tom Hicks and George Gillett took the club to the brink of administration, there will be no impact on squad strengthening.

"The funding has been put in place by the owners, we haven't gone outside, and it will come in as a loan and that is great news because it minimises the cost and allows us to move very quickly," he added.

"It is an effective way rather than going to a bank and paying escalating interest prices.

"It shouldn't affect squad development as we built this economic model on the basis it was important to find a solution where we could maintain our level of investment throughout the build.

"It can only improve once the construction is finished and the money is paid (off) then it is additional revenue so it is additional revenues to invest in the team.

"It shouldn't have any negative effect on investment in the football team.

"That is why we do this. We obviously want more of our fans to come through the door each week but we want to compete at the highest level with our biggest competitors.

Another thing is, if I understand FFP, the repayment of that loan will not be taken into account when calculating if we are breaking even. So in effect, we can overspend by £20m and not get punished for it, as the stadium is bringing in an extra £20m, but it won't be counted going back out to pay for the loan
