The Saudi's are looking at selling the name rights to St James' Park but only if the fans give consent. It would be fantastic if Bezos put in the highest bid to call it the WaPo Stadium.
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

I'm sure, very sure, the ToonArmy will bend over backwards to accommodate their new masters.

Call it the Amputation Arena, they won't give a shit if they can buy Calvert-Lewin with the proceeds.

Martin Samuel is currently asking why it's worse taking Saudi money than "white guys from america", his article features pictures of the Glazers and Henry obviously

Seems like a reasonable argument - John Henry is famously under indictment by the ICC in the Hague for war crimes and has been responsible for setting up an authoritarian theocracy in Massachusetts.

In terms of us the fat twat obviously doesn't understand the concept of sustainable, and to be fair to the Mancs, it's not like they benefit from the Glazers largesse either.

I must have missed the bit about Henry & Co torturing and killing those that disagree.

If I was Henry,I'd be getting my lawyers on the phone for him even trying to create an equivalence between the 2.

He was there just before Dean Smith I think, had them mid-table or near the bottom of the Championship then Smith took over and got them promoted through the playoffs that season.

When was he at Villa? Certain clubs and managers are just a constant merry go round of mediocrity! Have no memory of Bruce being at Villa! Think I remember him most at Birmingham and Wigan, he briefly had Wigan playing some decent stuff (wasn’t he manager when they had Amr Zaki on fire for about 3 games?!).

He did love to cross a rivalry divide:

Sheffields Wednseday/United
Sunderland/Newcastle

He started at Sheffield United! He was their manager when Arsenal scored that goal in the FA Cup that led to the game being replayed.

And he was at Sheffield Wednesday before Newcastle. They hate him because he was only there for 6 months, took a 2-week leave of absence upon being appointed, did nothing to improve their results, then fucked them off for Newcastle.

I was dreaming this morning that before he handed over the keys he'd had it painted in rainbow colours(and replaced the seats to match) and named it the liberty stadium.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

It’s a crowded field but a Martin Samuel is by far the dimmest football journalist around.  With some of them you get the impression that they know they’re talking shit and are just saying stuff for the internet traffic/attention.  If they said ridiculous stuff on that Sunday supplement thing they’d get their clips on YouTube and Twitter, generate interest in the program and be invited back.

This dense twat though actually fucking believes what he’s saying, and presents it such a smug, self satisfied way despite almost always being utterly wrong.

I remember him criticising the way in which some players tackled once. He claimed that you could tell they were going into tackles in order to hurt people as “it’s not a natural position for the human body to get in”.  As if he has any idea what is and isn’t a natural position when he can’t even get up to the first floor of a building without the use of a fucking stannah stair lift.  A bloke in that shape shouldn’t be lecturing people several stone lighter than him on their posture.

It was a pretty big story at the time

That doesn't necessarily mean that I saw, heard or read it does it? I wasn't being offensive or rude, i simply asked a question. Sometimes you dont need to assume everyone knows things just because you do or you saw it at the time. I asked a question which essentially was a chance to spread knowledge about what seems a large issue and talking point

Getting a bit precious isn’t it. Of course abuse is not right. In my time watching Liverpool only Hodgson was abused because he was just so anti- Liverpool. Newcastle fans are just another category.

Of course Newcastle fans were vile. But Bruce knew what he was walking into when the lure of money was so great he was happy to put it behind him as long as he got paid. Why didn’t he turn against the fans while employed?

As for Arteta, I think he got abused because he was underachieving and I just think he deserved it.

You're welcome to that dark bit of news!

I'm sure loads of Newcastle fans weren't aware of it either. But now there's no excuse, they simply don't want to hear about that or any of the barbarity of the Saudi government, from Yemen to women's rights to chemical castration of gay men.
