Looked quite bad, doubt we’ll see him for a couple of weeks. My guess is he’ll miss the busy december schedule, which may hurt us.

He walked off without even limping. How do you figure that?

He could barely bring himself to a jog to end a counter attack. Also, when it comes to players going off with knee ankle related injuries, how often are they out for a week or two? Really hope I’m wrong btw :)

Klopp didn’t sound very positive about it. That’s the main indicator for me. Hopefully he’s back for next Wednesday.

What a shitty way to pick up an injury as well. Lovren fouls their player who goes down rolls around and clatters into Fabinho.

Obviously we find out for certain over next day or two, but Klopp's answer in the press conference makes me nervous.

We've got options there if he's missing for a while, Henderson, Gini primarily I'd have thought, but Lallana an option for the upcoming games certainly.

Other alternative may be moving more to a 4231 like we saw after the Ox sub. That may well suit Keita a bit more as well.

Wait and see I guess. Still, far from ideal at the beginning of this run of games.

Huge loss right when squad depth starts really coming into play. Just hoping it’s an injury measured in weeks and not months.

Not too worried about the boot as that seems standard now

More concerned that Klopp isn’t hopeful

I missed the first 35 minutes, and the injury. Are we talking muscle, bone or other tissue damage here?

Was such a weird one. The other player was falling over after being challenged and as Fabinho was running past he falls full body weight onto his lower leg and you could see he went over on the ankle. Sometimes it’s just a sore one but it’s the type of ankle roll where some minor ligament damage is possible (and yes I’m absolutely speculating while hoping it’s just a sore one).

If he is out for a few a bit I fully expect hendo to be asked to fill the role. Milner provides cover for robbo. At a pinch Hendo will be first in line to provide cover for Fabinho, particularly as he doesn’t score many goals from midfield. That will open up opportunities for Ox, Keita and Lallana in more attacking roles in midfield.

Sigh. We can't have nice things.

I thought Lallana did a good job when he played a few weeks ago. Could be a combination of Henderson and Lallana or Gini. A horses for courses approach.

If he's out for a few weeks then this is the run of games I'm glad he's missing and not the last 8 we've just had.

Brighton H (suspended anyway)
Everton H (piece of piss)
Bournemouth A (should be straigforward)
Salzburg A (probably the one we'd miss him most)
Watford H (I could play in that one and we'd still win)
Villa A League Cup (kids are playing)
CWC
CWC  (Meh ... whatever)

Back in contention for Leicester and we'll have gotten away with one.

But let's see if he's actually seriously injured first.

If he is indeed out for a few weeks (no I don’t have a source before anyone asks, this is purely hypothetical) I don’t want to see anyone in his position apart from Hendo or Gini. Upside gives more game time to Keita and/or Ox. Lallana should be way down the pecking order to be honest. If Keita can’t get a run in the side now (illness permitting) then it is somewhat concerning.

Why do you hope to see Lallna there just out of curiosity? Surely Hendo or Gini move back and Keita/Ox fill in?

Man........ Fabinho is the most important player in our midfield and if he misses out longterm its gonna be difficult.

Really hope klopp does not go back to hendo, gini and milner combo if fabinho does indeed miss out for the next month or 2.

In the past Klopp has been hopeful and it’s ended up being more serious than first thought. Maybe he’s taking that into consideration now. It could be me clutching straws though. 😒

We just need to wait for scan Jill.

Klopps tone was downbeat though but think the boot is standard in these circumstances.

The issue we have if he is out for a long period is that’s hes been our best player all season & is a specialist. The only slight plus is we are stocked in midfield.

We have a run of five massive matches in a short space of time before going to Qatar. That will push squad to limit especially with concerns over Mo/Robertson.

Let's wait until we actually know before we start crying
