Anyone help? I'm not able to download from private torrent sites I've just joined? Public torrents, no problem, great speeds but thebox.bz... nothing, 0kbs... what am I doing wrong?

What client are you using?

A fair few clients are banned from most private trackers due to them being a load of crap.

Give uTorrent a go and if that doesn't work, I've no idea.

Yep... had a look on the FAQs... sorted, it was because I was using bitcomet, so I've got them on utorrent now. Although they're not as fast as I thought they might be $:-\$

still no joy.

not happy been waiting for 3 days for this to download and now i cant watch the bloody thing cos of the codec problem

I think it may be a fake file unfortunately. Searching for uploadvid.net seems to show this is very common. Never spotted a single person complaining who has managed to get anything but looped adverts to play.

I take it you got this from a public tracker like Mininova/The Pirate Bay?

Post where ya downloaded the torrent from. Really shouldn't be taking you that long to download a movie.

but yeah i know shouldnt take that long! should take me a couple of hours. pretty certain this is a fake though from what people say. will have to bite the bullet soon and just delete the thing.

spose there will be another version of saw 4 kicking around soon enough

There was a version released yesterday named:

Saw.4.TC.XViD-BaLD
and one about an hour ago
Saw.4.TC.2007.PAL.DVDR-BaLD

So keep an eye out for those releases. The ones I found were on Torrentbytes, but I'm certain it'll be everywhere soon.

There's a good one on scenemachine.org, it's a private site but I think they're open for signups at the mo, if not, someone on here should be able to get you an invite.

Cheers VCD gave that release 8/9 out a ten so that will do for me.

think its finished downloading now, jsut hope i can sort the RAR archive out. had a few problems wi them in teh past and normally avoid them for Avi/Xvid where possible

just click on the first rar file (sometimes r001) winrar will open, click 'extract to..' browse to where you want to place it, click ok, wit a few mins - done.

yeah i know thats the theory just had a load of bother wi em a couple a years ago when i first started with torrents, passwords and stuff.

so always go for the safe bet if possible wi avi files

its done with emaule, but just change it to bittorrent.

I'm using Azureus and get the ocasional green smiley but a lot of the time I just have yellows. At the bottom of the page I have two Green lights, one telling me my ratio is okay and one telling me my NAT is okay. I still get the yellow and some blue smileys though.

Bring back the Abacus, is all I can say at the moment
