Dear me.  That's a brave selection to say the least.

Brave and/or not taking this cup too seriously given that we desperately need to batter Norwich at the weekend.

Downing has played centre midfield before.  Remember him doing well there for Villa at Anfield a few years back when it finished 2-2 I think.  I wonder will it be him, Henderson and Sahin with Pacheco left and Assaidi right, or vice versa.

I'm calling it now, no matter what the result - that is a very good team selection by Rodgers (and the right one), can't wait!

So a midfield of Henderson/Sahin/Pacheco, not bad. Surprised Adam Morgan isn't on the bench after impressing Rodgers in pre-season, does he have an injury?

Will be in the squad on the weekend I assume

Liverpool doesn't need a keeper.  You keep dogs.  You save goals.  Liverpool needs a savior.

Works best if read in Brendan's accent/voice

:lmao

That is a team that will retain the ball well. Whatever variation we put out these days you can say that about them, and the first teamers are starting to follow suit, which is a lovely thing.

Ok?

My only worry is Carragher obviously. He was terrible against WBA last time and Lukaku is starting today as well  :-X . Although, with Hederson and Sahin in midfield, Robinson and Assaidi down the left and a decent finisher in Yesil, I'm confident. Hopefully Pacheco gives Rodgers something to think about for Europa League matches.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Crazy bench that is. Not expecting much out of this game to be honest. Hope some of the kids get a chance to show what they can do but I'd be expecting WBA to have their normal squad in. I'd be very, very happy with a 1-0 win. Some of the 'senior' players really need to prove themselves worthy to wear the shirt tonight. Expecting a frustrating game, I'm going with a 1-0 win. C'mon the reds!!

-----------------------Jones-----------------------
--Wisdom--Coates--Carragher--Robinson--
----------Henderson--------Sahin---------------
---------------------Pacheco----------------------
---Downing-----------Yesil---------Assaidi-----

Presumably the line-up is above.

Looking forward to seeing Yesil in action.

Don't know how I feel about Sterling on the bench.

Sinclair on the bench ahead of both Morgan and N'goo ????  - surely has something to do with him coming from  West Brom?

Yesil makes debut
Wisdom 2nd appearance.
Assaidi 2nd Liverpool appearance
Sahin's 3rd Liverpool appearance
Robinson's 7th appearance (5th start I think??)
