Reds one up from a corner.  Quansah won the first header and then guess who poached with a diving header to open the scoring.

Great goal there and about time we scored with all the possession we've had.

Cannonier should've just scored again after catching the keeper on the ball.

That was actually a much tougher finish than I thought on second view.  Doak's control to kill it dead before putting it away was excellent.

Mabaya has struggled to impose himself, up against that Rangers winger, who is just as much of a unit and just as quick.

I was going to say Rangers have been terrible on the ball (especially at the back), but I think it’s more to do with the non-stop workrate all over the pitch from our boys.

Corness has really impressed me again, seem to be getting a decent collection of young, playmaking defensive midfielders.

EDIT: That being said…this Rangers keeper is atrocious on the deck :D

Yeah he's really tidy and hit a lovely 50 yard daisy cutter in the first half.

Thought he was just a poacher but watching Cannonier, there's a lot more to his game.  His awareness is great.

But he still looks comically tiny out there, even at youth level.

There's the fourth, lovely throughball to Chambers who strikes it into the far corner after a nice flowing move.

Yeah was training with them yesterday.

Only caught the second half but another really good win. Couldn't have asked for more from the first 3

21s beating Wolves 5-0 at the death here

Stewart got the first three, and two late on from Cannonier. He was only on replacing Stewart for the last spell of the game as well. I think they might be his first in the u21 league but not sure. Doak on for his debut at that level too.

It's so good getting to see Layton back into his stride after an awful run of injuries. I hope he steps up his career now, he is such a natural goal scorer, the third one was a forty-yard chip over the keeper. It sounded a wonderfully taken goal.

I’m hoping we might see him get some minutes in the League Cup. If he’s banging in the goals for the 21’s then that’s the next step for him to get a taster of what’s required at first team level.

If Layton never had those injuries he would be near our first team, not only can he score goals but has a well rounded game to go with it, a lot more tools in his box than Oakley for example who is one of the best finishers at the club.

Just don’t know how much the injury has set him back but I’m rooting for him, always a good player to watch.

Great to hear he’s doing well. Looks very impressive in that clip. Remember his performance against Milan at the San Siro last season and he ran the show. There’s definitely a gap for a midfielder to break through in the first team currently. Hopefully keeps it up and has a good pre season.

Bajcetic and Morton can hopefully be part of Klopp's next squad he needs to build. The midfield pretty much needs gutting at this point. A good season in Blackburn's side and Morton could be ready. He wasn't physically ready last season but showed a lot of promise.
