Nobody predicted we could be a little short in midfield this season................
we replaced gini with Elliot. Do you think we were short on midfield last year?

Not worried about Konate but that midfield is going to struggle.  Ox is the only other real option, but him, Henderson and Keita isn't really going to work either, so can understand why Milner is in there to shore things up a bit.

Hopefully Utd do what they usually do against us and sit deep, letting us get on the ball and not have to hunt them down in the middle of the park.

Off to throw Konate into this game of all games, but maybe he is ready to show his quality. Big neg not having Fab, the 3 in midfield have a huge job to do to protect the back 4. Get control and take our chances and we win easily  give them a sniff and it'll be a tough 90mins regardless of how much better we are.

we have three injuries in midfield, that's why the same three are starting, Gini was replaced with Elliott but he got injured. We could have sent him out on loan and got someone else in and guess what the new signing could have got injured and we would have been in exactly the same situation.

I guess you want us to carry 10 midfielders, 8 CBs and 8 strikers just in case of injuries

Come on Redmen!
We've got this.
Fab might be out, but we've won more times with him out than in.
Also- we've got 2 huge CBs... perfect for all those corners we usually win!

3-1 the Reds!

Still think he’s one of the most misunderstood players in my time watching liverpool - he fine at the donkey work but one of the weakest of our midfield at it, especially defensively on the turn… by contrast he remains excellent on the ball

He links great with Mo.

I reckon Van Dijk and Konate, who are both pacy, should be able to deal with the speed of their forwards.

Their form has been quite sketchy of late, while ours has been good, so I think we can carry this good form into the match.

Midfield lineup could be better, but it's hardworking with a dash of creativity, pretty equal to theirs.

Front three seems good, overall looking forward to this. Reckon we'll win this.
