Had no idea it was the writer of Peep Show. But it´s a great show. Darkly funny. And it manages to get you invested in characters that are objectively horrible and that you despise. And it also seems very well researched in terms of what it is the superwealthy actually get up to. Fascinating and disgusting in equal measure. Which all makes for great telly with some good twists.

Pretty damning indictment of the worlds megarich all in al (especially of the media baron variety)

Literally just finished watching the last episode of season 2. I love this show.

100% agree with bolded bit. Have to say though, anytime Tom and Greg appear on the screen, I can't help but have a grin on my face or just laugh.

It's the best show on TV. Really hope they'll get to shoot the next season before too much longer.

For some reason this show seems to have been flying under the radar a bit, at least on this side of the Atlantic.

But it is genius, especially the second series. The writing is right up there with Breaking Bad and The Sopranos, in my opinion. I was happy to see Succession sweeping this year's Emmys.

Series 3 cannot come soon enough!

Agree on all accounts.

I think this is the one show going right now that has the potential to be mentioned alongside the very best.

Tom is egregious, but

Spoiler
the beach scene at the end of S2 with Shiv is heartcrushing. How can you feel such pity and briefly, as a man, support for someone who uses people as footstools?

Absolutely genius show, from start to finish. Superb script, characters, plot, scenery and pace. The crash zooms and the incessant handheld camerawork are annoying as hell, but that's the only grip I'd have.

Season 3 filming has been delayed because of the obvious.

Good news:

Series 3 starts filming this month in New York according to the Roy family's favourite sibling Alan Ruck.

Per Screenrant:

Quote
Alan Ruck, who plays Connor Roy, the eldest son and black sheep of the Roy family, told People TV that shooting on Succession season 3 is set to begin in New York around the middle of this month. Production was supposed to start in April but was delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August, series creator Jesse Armstrong said he hoped to start filming before Christmas this year, though he never gave a specific date. If the mid-November start date holds true, fans should hopefully expect to have new episodes by fall 2021.

Planning on binging this season once all episodes are all out.

Had season 1 saved on the Sky Box for about 3 months before we got round to watching it, then did the same again with Season 2 days after that season finished.

So i'll be avoiding this thread again like the plague when season 3 is showing.

Yep, this show inhabits that rarefied air alongside The Wire, Deadwood and Twin Peaks as far as Im concerned, and yes, I know I never mentioned The Sopranos.

Have taken the plunge and decided to use my last sick week before I (hopefully) get back in the office after 15 months away to get into this ahead of S3 - there's a definite The Thick Of It edge to it imo - which has surprised me a bit - until I remember its creator was behind Peep Show.

Excellent.

Honestly this is one of the greatest shows ever, the acting and writing is phenomenal. I always watch that intro too, love it. Rooting for Kendall for some reason, can't really root for anyone from a moral point of view, which is why the show is so good, there's no hero.

Yeah, same. Despite him...doing that thing, he's still somehow more likable than the others. Favourite character is probably Wambsgans, laugh out loud funny, so many great lines and superbly acted by Matthew MacFadyen. ""You can't make a Tomelette without breaking some Gregs"  :lmao

Up to the point in Season 2 where Greg drops the bomb on Wambsgans - the writing is just sensational. One of the very best I've watched.

Same as others, am proper rooting for Kendall - the others are just complete slime balls. Connor doing a eulogy at a funeral is pure Chris Morris vibes.

Roman is a complete c*nt though. A proper fucking c*nt.
