One of my tweets has gone off on one.  Somewhat sad but it's made me smile at least!  It's been on the Guardian, Indy and Telegraph's sites.

Love thunder & lightning me, always have, but it's been a while since I managed to catch one at night-time, in its full glory. Summer daytime ones have their own wonderful life-enriching vibe, but you can't beat a dark balmy night getting lit up by the strikes, with the intense roars following seconds later... feels that much more awesome.

Would often get my coat on and go for walks in it, getting soaked to the bone, just because. Or stand outside in the back with a towel on my head. If I'm allowed to do it at age 3, then I can do it in my 30s too!  :D

Y'know, you say that, but I've always had a weird desire to actually get struck by lightning as well.

It wouldn't hurt me or anything of course, I'd just get a cool white streak in my hair, and possibly Raiden powers  ;D

you'd end up looking like Rhydian or whatever his name was in the x factor. or Michael Sheens character in Tron Legacy.

i dont think you'd be posting here anymore if you did get hit. friend of mine saw someone struck by lightning when he was young. as soon as thunder and lightning start he is like johnny in Ted. still shits himself. cant blame him

^ North America does probably have some of the bossest ones like, or at least that's where more enthusuiasts chase down storms and film them for us. Those vast skies out in the sticks where it's basically a blanket of branching lightning racing across the clouds... simply awe-inspiring, humbling.

We're out in Orlando, so it was about 91f, sky was lit up with constant flashes and warm rain, just magical.

I'm the same as you with snow, I love seeing it, but not when I need to go out in it.

Watching the under 9's team I coach walk off the pitch with huge smiles on their faces and laughing with each other after winning 7-0 in their first proper 7-a-side game. This after being cheated out of a tournament last week which left a lot of the team crying, angry etc.
