Heard a new track from them yesterday alled Ole, which was very good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHNFzCshEvM

Decent but not amazing on 1st listen. Imagine it will be on the new album they are planning on releasing next year. Meant to have 7 or 8 songs for it already.

Watched PJ20 on BBC4 last night. Thought it was pretty good though I think Cameron Crowe could have delve a bit deeper on certain things. Talking about the ex drummers for a start -  why was David Abruzess (sp?) ditched?  Maybe toouched on their personal relationships a bit more. Apart from it being Stone's band to Eddie taking over there was much on the band dynamics. Something that must be importnat for a band to stay together for 20 years. Some great unseen footage though.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Struggling to get past that and start on Riot Act.

'All or None' on Riot act is an absolutely ace song. Benaroya Hall version from the live album is the best version I've heard.

Tour in Europe this summer, anyone going? Think I'm going to Werchter and/or Arras, both not that far and really want to see them.

My PJ history:

Wembley Arena - 29th May 2000
Reading Festival - 27th August 2006
P.O.P. Bercy - 11th September 2006
Wembley Arena - 18th June 2007
Shepherds Bush Empire - 11th August 2009
MEN Arena - 17th August 2009
o2 Arena - 18th August 2009
Hyde Park - 25th June 2010
Main Square Festival - 3rd July 2010

And also got tickets for MEN Arena on 20th June 2012. Was thinking of IOW, but £200+ is just too much with all the rest of the fees. Amsterdam is the more likely second show, but I doubt I'll do that either.

As long as I see them once on this tour, that should do me. Well, it blatantly won't!! :D

Never been a fan of Pearl Jam (more of a soundgarden man), but thats a pretty good track. The chorus reminds me of a track off the first Nickleback Album though.

It sounds nothing like Nickelback.

He's all about social this, social that, bad western society, etc. but they do play their gigs organised by multinationals like ClearChannel.

For one thing.

Not sayin' he isn't a great songwriter, cause he obviously is. Although he couldn't even suck Morrissey's, Ian Curtis', Nick Drake's or Neil Young's cocks.

Urgh...nonsense.

I just want as many UK shows as possible. Despite Reading being my favourite ever, I don't want them playing festivals anymore.

Ah, I love Pearl Jam.
Was reading where tickets sold out in 9 minutes or something for their Oslo gig.
I've only seen them twice live; at Slane Castle in 1993 when they supported Neil Young, and once in Dublin (1996 maybe?  not sure).
Favourite songs: Alive (obviously), Off He Goes, and Thumbing My Way.
May contain irony.

Off He Goes is an absolute corker of a song. Like I said earlier in this thread I'm a massive fan of All or None from Riot Act. Like the live version (Benyroa Hall in particular) more so than the studio version. Think the bass is too loud in the album version.

Saw them twice on their Binaural tour, once in Cleveland and once in NYC. Was a big fan and then it kind of petered out. Ironically, it's Vedder's singing that caused both loving the band and getting annoyed with them.

Always give new albums a listen to when they come out, and they never compare to the first 3, either.

Like others am well pissed off with the mess on tickets.
Managed to get Manchester and Copenhagen on public sale.  Will chase down some more shows probably.
Still, looking forward to the summer!

5 - No Code
6 - Pearl Jam

8 - Binaural
9 - Riot Act

If you could only choose 1 song from each studio album to listen to for ever, what would you choose?

 My choices are below:

Ten - Garden
vs - Dissident
Vitalogy - Immortality
Yield - In Hiding
No Code - Off he Goes
Binaural - Sleight of Hand
Riot Act - All or None
Pearl Jam - Army Reserve
Backspacer - Johnny Guitar

For non album tracks I would probably choose Footsteps though Yellow Ledbetter and State of Love & Trust are both ace songs.

Think the above would make a pretty decent album. Choosing the best song from Ten is near impossible. Garden just shaded Black, Release & Alive.

I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Vs. - Rearviewmirror. Although my favourite song live is Indifference with Ben Harper.

No Code - Off He Goes
Yield - Do The Evolution
Binaural - Sleight Of Hand
Riot Act - You Are Not on the list I copied across.

3 - No Code  - Present tense

For me, this song is the 2nd best on No Code.

6 - Vitalogy - Better man

Always thought Betterman was a better live song than an album song. Really turned in to a staple song on the live set. For me Immortality, Not For You, Tremor Christ & Coudroy are better songs on Vitalogy. Each to their own I suppose.

Didn't realise this was on the re-issue of Vs. I've got the re-issue of Ten with the added bonus tracks. For the re-issue is Crazy Mary the only additional track to the original album?

Amazing gig again last night - generally quite a good atmosphere in the crowd as well. Loads of old stuff with about 6 or 7 Ten era songs played plus a couple of Vs and Vitalogy.

Looking forward to the 2nd gig tonight. Hoping for a bit of No Code tonight and maybe Footsteps or Crazy Mary as well.

Is the Isle of Wight festival on TV at all?

The only thing that annoyed you about last night's gig was that nob at the front requesting 'Come Back'. If you where going to choose a song for PJ to play live it would never be 'Come Back'.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

That's made me laugh. I thought the gesture of a major band doing a request was one of the coolest things I've seen. Now you mention it, the song was a very lame choice  :)
