We literally have no squad depth operate on a sell to buy policy, we will waste klopp's golden years under these owners.

He isnt good enough. Some of his decision making when he arrived was mad.

Oh I agree. His footballing intelligence is just not where it needs to be. But given enough time in a game, he often does end up contributing a goal, assist or key moment.

Especially given the way Milner and Henderson were performing - he couldn't possibly have offered less.

But maybe he had to rush as he came late on and had the pressure of time? I think Ox should've started today ahead of Milner.

I do not think we would have won that with Mo or Mane. We have been just as toothless with them against ten men. Our problem against ten men is more structural in my opinion. We need to sort it out.

And probably rightly so. 10 players out of the first choice 11 that started the first game of the 2018 season are still our first choice. The drop off in quality is fucking seismic.

8 of the XI are first choice starters so if you're saying the main 8 were great and the 3 subs let them down then I have no idea what fucking game you were watching.

Klopp has made soo many poor decisions this season.

Neco Williams should've come on 90 minutes earlier.

Milner completely off it. Henderson the less said the better.

Alisson was probably our man of the match for the save he made against Saka.

Maybe. Problem is I cant really see much of a long term role here for him or Milner and Id rather have just got Curtis on in central midfield and Gordon out wide.

Pathetic, we are clueless agaist a packed defence.

How Henderson stayed on the pitch is beyond me, we deserved no more than a draw.

Henderson just gives it to the nearest player next to him, we are second best in the league to a really bad bunch.. For the money we have spent we are what we are. We can't even take corners and are going through the motions at the moment. Ahh well..

We were just as bad against Leicester with Mo and Mane playing.
We created chances against Leicester. We didn't have a shot on target tonight.

It took over 60 minutes with no shots on target to realise that we needed to do something different. TAA struggled and Henderson hardly helped and never really tried to get Dow the right. Neco should have been on much earlier as should Jones.

Against 10 men you are going to get room on the wings but we hardly used the extra man.

Arsenal will have to come out of their penalty area for the next leg which will give our forwards much more room.

Final comment…….how many times did Saka push our player but the referee didn’t see it.

A match to forget.

Not just Saka, the entire Arsenal team because Michael Oliver is terrible :lmao being the best of a bad bunch doesn’t stop you being shit, just makes you slightly less shit

don’t worry he’s leaving at the end of the season.

Problem is, so little options, with Jones just back form quite a long layoff, he wasn’t going to start 2 in a few days. So Ox or Milner, pick your poison!

Old legs, stale ideas and I suggest some complacency as well. There was no urgency until Jones and Neco injected some pace and power into the game.

The squad just looks increasingly stale. A pale echo of a group of players who were once intense and bloody good fun to watch.

This could be a tough month to endure.

It doesn't help that the players brought in to freshen things up are injured again (Thiago, Elliot) or adjusting (Konate).

This is what happens when you keep doing the bare minimum every window.

I felt quite early on that if we were to get to Wembley we'd have to beat them at their place.

Yes, we were abject, but it was also one of those games were things just wouldn't run for us anyway. You could tell that we could have played all night and probably not got a shot on target, never mind score a goal.

We are a far better team than they are, so if we turn up at their place we have every chance of making the final.

I do sometimes genuinely think this, in this cup anyway. There is an advantage to having a group who will literally play as if every game is a cup final.

I’m not one to overreact, nor to get too down after a poor performance.

But that was utterly shite.

Credit to Arse? Nah - they didn’t have to do a great deal. Their game against City showed how much they have improved since their supporters were calling for Arteta’s head, but the lack of creativity and penetration by us was just so typical of our performances when we are faced with 10, and a low block. It’s our (and it has to be said, Juergen’s) Achilles heel.

Minamino’s performance against us for Leipzig/Salzburg (I cannot remember, and am beyond caring) was in retrospect the biggest outlier in my football memory bank. He, along with Hendo, Millie and Trent, were poor all game, as was Jota.

Watching the ball bounce of Chamberlains shins while he tries to bring under control makes me irrationally angry.

Losing Mane and Salah highlights the lack of creativity from midfield, Origi picked the wrong time to be injured.

Who played well?

Neco our best player perhaps?
Jones was aggressive anyway.
Matip had some creative moments, but his one shot sort of makes it clear why he doesn't usually pull the trigger during his wandering runs forward.

Struggling to think of anyone else...

That sums it up. Though Alisson made the saka save.

Would it be too radical to suggest we need a creative player or two? Or is signing players still frowned upon on here?

The same problems again as predicted

Curtis Jones was sublime near enough every time he got the ball, Neco showed some excellent play down the wing as well, left Tierney unable to cut out a number of good crosses.

That midfield is exactly what so many had worries about, slow, laboured and bereft of ideas and creativity. The Arsenal midfield is one of the worst i’ve ever seen come away from Anfield with something

This is it. You despaired seeing our midfield but looked at theirs and still hoped we'd be able to dominate. And then their main midfielder gets sent off after 20 minutes on top and we still offered nothing in there.

Both of those midfields are light years away from Chelsea and City and there's only Thiago who would have been playing tonight.

Such a strange performance

Just don't understand why we weren't trying to go wide more.

We've had performances where we haven't been able to crack a defence so kept chucking balls in but we did the complete opposite there
