I don't know if it's my memory playing tricks on me but I thought we were a bit slow out of the blocks back in 13/14 compared to how we are doing now. Not sure if the information here bears that out but we really do seem to be on top of things at the moment.
After 11 games that season, we were one place worse off (in second) and 3 points worse off (with 23).
That season, we did not reach top spot until Game 17, so 6 games later than this season. It meant that we were top on Christmas Day.
It's the fact that we lost our next two games after going top that probably makes us all think that our start to that season was worse than it actually was, because it meant that we were in fourth place throughout the whole of January and February.
That season, we did not regain top spot until the very end of March, when there were just 6 games left for us. And, of course, even then MC had enough games in hand to hypothetically overtake us.
That season, we got 36 points from the first 19 games. In other words, if we want to be
ahead of our points tally from that season, at the half way stage, we'll need a minimum of 11 points from the next 8 games.
That season, we got 44 goals from the first 19 games. In other words, if we want to be
ahead of our goals tally from that season, at the half way stage, we'll need a minimum of 15 goals from the next 8 games.
That season, we conceded 23 goals from the first 19 games. In other words, if we want to be
doing better than our goals against column from that season, at the half way stage, we'll need a to let in no more than a maximum of 8 goals from the next 8 games.
