Who we got in Vokanovski & Mackhachev?

I feel like its going to be alot closer than what most people think.

As an Aussie I’ll be cheering on Volk big time tomorrow but I’m under no illusions that it’ll be extremely hard. Elite level wrestling is by far the best base in the sport and Islam is so strong and big he should probably be fighting at welterweight so there is every chance he could be too strong and just rag doll Volk. Either way as a fight fan I’m pumped though the only wrestler we’ve seen Volk go up against was Mendes which wasn’t much of a test Volk was up in about 5 seconds the couple of times he got taken down. Also Islam has never faced a fighter of this skill level or fight IQ before so the unknown on both sides has me excited.

Fuck knows what they were thinking putting an interim championship of Volk’s title on the line right before he fights. There is no energy or excitement for this fight at all.

Boss card that. Volk still P4P best fighter for me. Brilliant attitude showed his wrestling and humble at the end. He deffo underestimated Islam's striking

Islam was gassed in the fifth which I was very surprised about. Don't think I ever saw Khabib get gassed, and Islam is supposed to be better than him. Also bad look at the end getting ground and pounded on. Volkanovski is  little tank, he'd give any LW problems.

Turns out it was Islam’s length more than his strength that mattered. Volk just couldn’t close the distance without getting tagged coming in.

Very impressed with both fighters.

Decent card this weekend, and of course the return of the (arguably) the GOAT. No idea if Jones will have any ring rust but he's taken the most dangerous fight there is, fancy Gane on a decision.

Darren Till released from UFC (at his request). His career has really nosedived since the loss to Woodley, guy just never recovered.

Countless knee, shoulder and other injuries not helped. Wonder if he will go down the Bellator route, or if he thinks his body is too damaged for it now and has other plans.

I can see him getting knee surgery because his knees are shot, Khamzat said as much. Then probably getting on the juice to help him recover while he’s out of the testing pool.

Hope for his own sake he packs it in completely, his body seemingly can’t handle the physical demands.

Moving on to this weekend I’m eagerly awaiting the return of Jones, wonder what level of performance he brings given his absence.

Crazy to think how many new fans UFC has got in recent years, and most will never have seen Jon Jones fight.

Hope he loses.

Can't see anything but him walking through Gane. He's an utter prick but I think he's just the most complete fighter there is.

He arguably lost his last two fights at LHW and that was 3 years ago. He's 35 now, rusty and moving up in weight, I think it will be a lot closer than people think.

It’ll be even on the feet but unless Gane has improved his wrestling which is unlikely Jones shouldn’t have any trouble getting him down and keeping him there.

This Gardbrandt fight is one of the worst fights I've ever seen. Your man Jones has landed 8 strikes total in the whole thing. The two of them have danced the entire 3rd round. Literally nothing else has happened.

Would be fun but pretty sure his coach confirmed Chimaev is moving up to middleweight.

Mexican MMA is on a roll! Need a PPV there this year.
