Spoiler
so Loki is in New York with Thor searching for Odyn? Didn't Loki kill Odyn and disguise himself as him at the end of Thor 2? Also I thought Thor went to do that Ragnarok stuff. I'm confused

Spoiler

Also was that amulet the final infinity stone, I've lost count now

Saw it yesterday. Thought it was a good film. I wasn't expecting a huge civil war type film, more of a Iron Man 1 and thats what i thought it was. Enough entertainment in the film, good jokes and sets up the rest of the MCU nicely.

Mid credits scenes help as well. 3.5/4 out of 5.

Spoiler
As John said, its actually part of Ragnarok, the little scene was directed by Taika. Presumably Loki's little ruse has been found out and Thor is looking for both him and Odin. I never took that Loki had killed Odin, just that he had gotten rid of him/imprisoned him and was impersonating him. He might have cast Odin back to Earth and made him forget who he was. Either way, it seems like Strange will be helping Thor out at least for a little bit in Ragnarok. Man that film is going to be bonkers.

Quite enjoyed the first episode of Luke Cage myself, although this may be more due to Misty Knight than anything else.
Takes me a while to watch a series but will definitely see this through.
Was going to go with Daredevil but plumped for this instead.

Has anyone ever heard anything about a Sub Mariner film? He was a big fav of mine when I was a lad.

Marvel only recently regained the rights to a Namor /Sub Mariner movie, so it's likely to be a while before anything happens there, and the slate is very full for the foreseeable future already. Don't hold your breath. (Unless you can breathe underwater.)

Thank you for replying. Maybe one day then. I guess theres even less chance of a Captain Britain film? I sort of base all my likes on the comics I used to get in the 70s.

Defenders confirmed as eight episodes. That sounds ideal to me - that's around the length all the Netflix shows should be.

Yeah think this is a good move. All 4 Marvel seasons have felt overlong to me, even Jessica Jones which I loved. 8 episodes is plenty with all the heroes already set up. Wish more shows would look at reducing their episodes, as much fun as The Flash was, it was 23 episodes and aint nobody got time for that. The majority of them become needless filler and I just cant get into the show.

Finally a Marvel film that stuck a decent score in there.

Thought it felt very new rebooted Star Trek and tho and behold it's a Michael Giacchino score.

Absolutely loved it!

Thought it was decent.

As a story it was not an ounce better than decent. Pretty much Origin Story 101.

Visually though, it did some interesting things. Well, it did one interesting thing. The Inception kaleidoscope stuff was a bit overcooked and overedited, such that it was at times quite hard to follow. But the one bit at the end at the final confrontation was something reasonably new and innovative.

Oscar Nominee Benedict Cumberbatch was fine in what was a pretty thin role, and just did his standard high functioning sociopath thing, which is always enjoyable for what it is. Oscar Nominee Rachel McAdams had even less to work with, but was also decent. I wasn't entirely convinced by the chemistry between the two, but luckily the romance aspect was a fairly small part. You can make the same comment for Oscar Nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, Oscar Winner Tilda Swinton and Cannes Best Actor Winner Mads Mikkelsen.

If I were to summarise the whole thing in one sentence, I'd say the whole thing - from the unbelievably high-powered cast to the mind warp-y special effects - was far too big for what's actually a pretty small film. A lot of sound and fury signifying nothing. Bit like the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe, really.

It was enjoyable for what it was, though.

Solid 3.5 stars.

Pretty enjoyable movie all in all considering I had no idea who the character was and how were they going to deal with sorcery. Thought the performances were solid as well. Easily an 85-90% movie for me.

2. Mind Stone, the one from Loki's scepter, now in Vision's head.
3. Reality Stone, from the second Thor movie's Aether.
4. Power Stone that appeared in the Guardians movie.
5. And now the Time Stone in the Eye of Agamotto.

Five on each knuckle, one on the hand.

I actually think theyll save the soul gem to Infinity War, either as a last piece for Thanos to get in a final battle, defeat the heroes, big cliffhanger etc. Or as an opening, he gets that one away from any of our heroes knowing about its existence, and then he comes for the others.

I've sort of assumed the final battle will result in him pulling the stone from Vision's head and killing him. Someone has to die, and he seems expendable.

So now they've got a guy who can turn back time. So long as they keep Strange safe no hero in the MCU never need die again in battle.
