Interesting article with Ian Ayre about the financial/commercial potential of the main stand expansion.

Possibly, though the lounges will be lucrative as well...
Matchday hospitality packages are a very good earner. At the moment, the club sell packages which include a seat, dinner and bar for over £230 per head (for "Platinum" category games) and the official website shows those packages as being sold out.

Why we are building so much more hospitality than normal seats

“Corporate hospitality revenues are essential,” Ayre said. “If we had increased capacity by 8,500 general admission seats only, it would have taken a ridiculous time to pay back the investment, meaning revenues into the team would have been affected. But the large corporate increase means we will pay the debt back quickly and not be saddled with debt, while quickly increasing revenues into the playing squad.”

Intresting that ayre expects our next sponsorship deal to be worth +£10million than our current deal

The shirt sponsorship new deal of +£10 million a year is no surprise as Man Utd have gone from £20 million with AON last season to £47 million this season with Chevrolet, so Liverpool should be looking at £30 million as a minimum at least

I was up there this week and from what I can see there's no piling going on. Maybe unnecessary on this job?They're busy shuttering the main concrete foundation blocks which look around 3 or 4 metres cubed a nd I have seen concrete wagons pouring there too. This will take a while along with the drains the rest of the ground work. Nothing will appear above the perimeter fence till April or May at the earliest IMO.

I wish they'd rig a webcam up.

Also piling usually depends on the soil. I'd be surprised if deep foundations weren't installed though.

Look at the new Main Stand. The sections between the tiers certainly seem to show corporate boxes.

The top level is the hospitality area, so they will lead out into the corporate seats, the bottom row is vip suites/boxes.

That's probably how they are not going to affect seating and capacity while the season is still going on. Start building the new extended part of the stand, and connect it to the existing stand in the off season.

The builders are just preparing the site for the big fuck off 3D printer which is being delivered which will print it from the 3d plans.
