I think his biggest problems will be recreating the unity we had until a few months ago. A huge part of that will be keeping a massive squad happy.
of we look at his previous three clubs, he seems to have been really good at that.

No one will be like Klopp, but he’s lost lots of players and then built team spirit really quickly.  Will it translate over here?  We will see

They’re not ‘fans’
They are brainwashed followers of a despotic regime.
They couldn’t care less about the football, proven by the empty seats and their pathetic parades. They just want the regime to collect their ill-gotten trophies and say ‘look at us’. Their ‘club’ have completely destroyed the game in this country by breaking every rule possible and throwing lawyers at it to get away with it.
They were a desperate fanbase who happily sold their souls to the devil in exchange for silverware. Anyone who'd prefer that City won the title over Arsenal needs to watch or rewatch the Youtube video "Britain's Biggest Football Scandal". The arrogance at the club is beyond breathtaking and I have no respect for them or their so-called "achievements". They are as worthy of merit as Lance Armstrong's cycling titles and Ben Johnson's 100m records.

Tremenous banter by Nike with the kids kit, just throwing the adult collar on to add ill-fitting to the weirdly designed and shite looking product. All for probs £100 plus for one kid.

Marvellous  ::)

It is a bit shite.

But it does give me vibes of that early 80s kit that we won a few things in.

They could market it as a revision of a classic LFC kit from the 80s when radical pinstripes were introduced!

No a title challenge isn't being perfect, when the bedwetters over not signing Caicedo were going ham in the summer I said with this squad we could win a trophy and challenge for the league.. The squad will be improved, so the same aim should remain.
Can we challenge next season? Of course
Should we expect to challenge next season? No IMO.

It's better to not overburden Slot with the expectation that he "should" challenge next season. In that case, one or two bad results and heads will fall off. If we do challenge then great.

And you actually have to be "borderline" perfect to challenge. Last season, we were out of it after 4/5 games which was ridiculous.

There's a bit of nuance in it.

It's interesting how we all have different memories.

For me, it reminds me of a delicious header by Nando at OT to make it 1-0. Decent cross by Dirky boy as the assist.

AND it reminds me of Aquilani's debut for us v. Arsenal. I think it was the league cup. And Insua might have scored a worldie in it. Or did Degen have some star moment? Not sure. But deffo a good cameo from Aquilani.
Sadly, he turned out to be weaker than Aurelio and Thiago and I think he spent the majority of his time here in the sick room.
We all thought he would be our new Alonso at the time too lol

Yep, Insua scored with a kind of chest down, bounce and dipping volley I think.

:lmao

The medical staff were all sitting doing fuck all and had to leg it and grab their kit bags, the fucking thundercunt

The moment Taylor calls for the physio, notice only Moyes anywhere near the pitch

And when the Physio stands up 4 seconds later (I couldn't get the bar not to show on Iplayer) so I circled it in yellow

It’s outrageous isn’t it. Just blatant lies and yet fuck all is said/done about it. It’s why I’m giving up on the game after this season.

Just reminds me of the beach ball game, that black shirt/gold shorts combination. :(

Memories of losing at Old Trafford in it (like most away kits from that era!).

2010-12 adidas home kit says hello.
You must be young.
And scarred from seeing players like Charlie Adam and Konchesky in it.

For us oldies, that kit gave us warm memories of our double-winning era in the late 80s... ahhh memories of Rush at Wembley!

All we need

Other additions would be top ups, or alternatives.

Mo is staying (apparently, which is excellent as he was he exceptional prior to that layoff).
Diaz has been our shining light for the past month
Doak will be back and I can see him having a breakout season (Slot adores wingers who specialise in one vs ones)
Given Slot's penchant for them another speedy winger may be brought in.
Jota, Gakpo (Firmino type role), Nunez, three options in the middle.

Midfield, we are stacked in the 8s.
A top class 6 we have been screaming out for since Fabinho collapsed. Midfield has been disjointed with 8s babysitting the slow 6, or one of the 8s (Mac) coming back to "do a job there". We need a proper 6 to get that midfield firing and balanced again, one who screens the back line and shuts off the easy access the opposition have had to our final third, one who frees up the 8s, benefiting both the defence and the attack.
Bajcetic is an interesting one; class player, but not sure of his exact role.

First choice back four, Robbo (along with Diaz our best player this month), Virgil (outstanding season despite no protection infront of him), Konate, Trent.  Title winning standard. Bradley and Quansah (breakout seasons), Gomez (mr versatile)...we are a bit thin on quality after that. Tsimikas put in a car crash of a performance vs Atalanta, so there is a possible upgrade as a backup there. A fourth CB option with Matip going would be wise.

Almost as if we haven’t learnt from previous seasons about standing still where it came back to bite us. We need to improve the squad. Our front line just doesn’t look like it’s quite right. There’s something missing there and we definitely need to bring in a front 3 player- that might mean letting one of the current lot go. As you’ve said, we need a holding midfielder. We also need a centre back. Virgil will be a year older and we can’t expect him to start every game and Konate is made of glass and can’t play more than a game a week or he’ll break down.  Ideally someone at the level konate was at when he joined us.
