Liverpool FC Forum / Re: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Trent moving inside vacates the left back position and isolates Salah on the wing.
He still sprays some lovely passes, but all too often these are from central areas out to the wings. All very pleasing but ultimately ineffective.
We had the world's best attacking midfielder and greatest assist machine whose assists made up for his defensive shortcomings. Now we've turned him into a above average midfielder who can't defend or assist.
Note his pass today for MacAllister's header..... a straight ball from central midfield to his head that made it so difficult to do anything with. He's played many similar balls this season.
We have Salah too wide, Trent not wide enough, and constantly get exposed down the right.

Tend to agree with this.  That ball to Mac was fantastic but difficult to do anything more than he did with it. One of the greatest crossers of a ball in the world but he's not in the position to cross the ball.
Salah doesn't have the pace or engine to play out wide alone. His interplay with Trent on the wing used to be devastating. That side of the pitch is now a liability

Hahaha....   Short Memory Theater at its best.

I loved Sadio.  He was excellent.  But he went through long stretches of criticism because he "refused to pass to Mo" and he was selfish in attack...

It looks like Diaz is trying to do it all himself because he's seen what form his teammates are in probably.  To make a pass to Darwin or Mo over the last month Lucho could probably just save his energy and pass it to the GK instead for all the good that will come from it.

Of course he did, I don't doubt his dips in form but his performance ceiling was everything we needed and asked for from a forward right from the word go against Arsenal. Diaz has never reached those peaks.

Media and Arts / Re: Wrestling Thread (AEW, NJPW, WWE, etc) (*)

I watched it for a few weeks after the rebrand but got bored. The low crowds at TV are really noticeable, especially compared to TNA's heyday. The Olympia in 08 is one of my fondest memories of a wrestling show, these days it's a world away.

The wrestling is ok but I really hate the WWE style promos. AEW have taken the purists away, and there aren't many wrestling fans willing to shell out for 2 companies PPV's in such a short space of time. I'd like them to be successful but they have no special identity, if you took the TNA logo out of the ring, you would think you're watching an episode of WWE. And when you don't have any marquee names there, no one is going to switch over.

Quite funny that. Day 3 does get a bit weird.

Yep .it’s the worst cheating I’ve ever seen

No wonder jurgens had enough

Honestly, I think half the reason why he is leaving is he gets this shit every week

Well there it is. A referee actively influencing proceedings to cover his own mistakes. Actively seeking collusion from the 'keeper. For me, that's sackable.

It goes far beyond that though. Referees are mic'd up. The two assistants. The 4th official and Stockley Park will have heard that. If the PGMOL do not act then they are complicit in corruption.

We have this ability to make shite teams look decent, Arsenal got 6 vs these.

6 goals? Cos they didn’t get 6 points.

West Ham beat them at the Emirates.

But agree with the general point that we’re making heavy weather of things.

Gakpo needs to put the ball in the net.
Despite what most are saying, I don't think he'd get booked.
Watching it, he's not going to slam the ball into the net, he's walking it in.
And if he does get booked, so what? It'll just mean more explaining for Taylor.
There has been little comment on what Areola is doing. I think he genuinely thinks he has been awarded a free kick. It's the old roll the ball out, pull up your socks to waste time etc.
Could it possibly be 'unsporting' for Gakpo to score? Perhaps.
But it's not for Taylor to decide that.
As others have said, he knew exactly what he was doing by blowing the whistle.

This is where all the back covering comes in. Like Rugby, Taylor and the VAR should look at the replays together and VAR have the balls to say to Taylor, "you've missed that, its at least a yellow". But no, they just cheat.

It really is a cheats charter. It’s sickening

clear says Floor to Areola

So what we have is a real life footballing equivalent of the “bring out your dead” bit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

“Get on the floor”
“I’m not injured”
“Yes you are, you’ll be in absolute agony in a minute”
“I think I’ll got for a walk”
“You’re not fooling anyone”
“I don’t want to see the physio”
“Oh, don’t be such a big baby”
