Thiago has an ear infection
That's pure negligence not looking after his ear, or signing another ear in the summer.

It’s killing us imo

But some how City seem to be always down on the list of injured players

They stroll around 90% of their games playing keep ball, only a handful of teams attempt to give them a game.

Off the top of my head wernt Jota, Diaz and now Nunez injured in matches? Not sure how many of our lads were actually injured in training but yeahh let’s blame the medical team, nothing to do with the 3 games a week that we’ve been playing all season.

Weird how they are the very thing GP's will generally prescribe you with then. And have done with me twice. First time it took about a week for it to clear up. Second time I was right after about 4 days.

If you’d spoken to Dr Fromola MBBS you wouldn’t have had that second infection
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Questions need to be asked of our medical team. This is a fucking shambles that we’re going in games after games with new injuries and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

I don't think the compressed schedule is helping much either.

Diaz was a bad tackle and then that causes an issue for Jota having to play the full 100 minutes against City. You end up with a knock on effect.

It's definitely a strong enough XI to win.  Hopefully Salah is free to roam more centrally to give us a threat in behind.

The bench looks progressively more threadbare, particularly in attack.  Our only attacking option looks to be an unfit Ox playing out of position so hopefully we don't need to chase the game.

Any win will do.  I'll happily sacrifice style for leaving the pitch with no additional injuries.

Yah, unfortunately Thiago just hasn't received the same kind of training that we've given the likes out Allison - in his case it's 'how to punch a high ball without risking contracting TB - and I think heads need to roll for this complacency

He didnt have to play Jota for the full 100 mins tbf. Couldn’t have predicted it at the time but I was kind of thinking why is he still haring around the pitch in 85th minute when he should be coming off.

Nunez wasn't injured in a game, he has a muscle problem.  nothing to do with impact, it's exerting tired muscles.
same with Jota.

I'm sure we won 4-2 on New Year's Day once.

We’ve never won at the City Ground in the Premier League is what 4pool means. Plenty of home wins against them. Owen scored 4 in a game once.

92/93 - Lost 1-0, opening weekend
94-95 - 1-1 Last minute Fowler equaliser
95-96 - Lost 1-0 around Spring
96/97 - Drew 1-1 in the run in. James howler
98/99 - Drew 2-2. See Where Angels Play for details.

Not many games in there due to their relegations. We didn’t win our last few in the Football League days either. Remember them banging in about that when we went there in the cup.

Feel a little worried for Bobby if he's gonna be playinh another 80 odd minutes today and be potentially be needed at Ajax. Was clearly pencilled in to start from the bench today. With the tread on the tyres from these last few seasons, the short turnaround time between games and the options becoming more limited by other injuries - this is when risk of muscle injuries goes up.

Don't want Bobby to go the way of Fabinho in that CB-less half season or Matip at the start of that season. Especially with world cup coming up, already gutted enough for Jota

Thiago Alcantara is missing from Liverpool's midfield today because of an overnight ear infection.
"The decision was made this morning at 5.15. That’s how it is sometimes and that’s the reason for that," Klopp told BT Sport.

The Liverpool boss also gave a fitness update on Darwin Nunez.
"For Darwin the game comes too early, he still feels the intensity of the game muscle-wise so there was no chance he could play today. Maybe he could play tomorrow or on Monday but not today."
