What I've seen last year was that 0 countries progressed from their group in Russia that can be considered Muslim. The World Cup started on the last day of Ramadan.
Err... That's maybe because they aren't among the best teams in the World.

It's not Ramadan - it's not being very good. The largest, richest and most successful countries are in Europe and South America and 15 of the 16 who qualified from the group are from those those associations.
