Are the club having a laugh?
« on: May 17, 2002, 03:28:11 pm »
First i see are new crap kits and then to top it off this new crap stadium, i feel our history and tradition is being lost. GH is the only one who knows what hes doing, looking to get a couple of top players in for next season. :'( :'( :'(

We'll need to give everyone a chance to vent their spleen, me included and then we can look at the bigger picture and if it still turns out to be crap, then we can complain.

Depends on how big your pictures are.

Can't you get GOD ( no not RF ) to do something and at least your uni course will come in handy then.

1) Don't know what an avator means - will look up online dictionary. :D

2) Why is the pic of the goat so big?

Avator is the little pic...

So its your goat, and its that big cos its not resized so it gets displayed @ its original size...

sorry to be controversial, but why stay in a stadium we can't develop without massive cost and hassle. and even then we can't develop it much more, because of the surrounding housing.

call me a :wanker if you like, and i love Anfield, but progress is necessary. doesn't sound like the history at Anfield will be forgotten by the club...

i do see the problems pointed out with the new designs, but that doesn't mean would need to stay.

if i am wrong, please put me straight! :wave

because its only going to hold 55k which is still too few and so will need extending as soon as its build...

Of it were for 70k most people would accept it as progress, but for an extra 10k seats its just a joke

In fairness Parry had explained why they opted for 55k rather than 70k.  It is simply so that Houllier isn't restricted in his transfer budget.  And expanding the current Anfield (Main Stand)would result in three seasons of much lower capacity (maybe around 33,000).  If you assume that season ticket holders would remain (28,000) and then away fans and corporate hospitality it would be a complete joke for three seasons.  So I am willing to see what they finally decide upon

I thought all along that Rick Parry said the building plans for the new ground or rebuilding of Anfield would not affect the money for the team.

Has this changed or was i pissed when i read it.

I have been supporting liverpool from afar for over30 years  ( i'm 37 now ).....and since i was about 20 i have got over to Liverpool on average 4 - 6 times a year but its almost impossible to get tickets anymore. Lately I've travelled to Birmingham and Sunderland  to see away games coz its easier to get a poxy ticket.

I know the like of me are classed as a bloody daytripper but I'm not really arsed what anybody thinks as long as I get to see MY team / MY heroes.

I love Anfield to bits and every time I go its suchhhhh a buzz I just couldnt describe it but progress is progress and there are two things which sway my mind.....

1) Do we want the mancs and Arsenal to piss all over us
in terms of monies available to buy players etc and
2) Do we want to continue with a poxy system where
getting a home ticket is like winning the lottery ?

We have to retain what is the best of the old but still move on with the new or we'll be left behind. We are back where we belong on the pitch so lets not get left behind off it......

Oh and its probably the only chance I have of getting a season ticket I've been waiting years for  !!!!   :( :(

why do u want to demonstarte.Ok we have a major history at Anfield and it will be sad when it goes.just like when the Spion Kop went. But, we will be able to get more people in,more people means more money. To be fair we couldn't go out and spend 50m on 2 plauyes like the scum did even though JSV AND rvn ARE shit.We will be able to compete with the biggest clubs of Europe off the pitch aswell as on it.

You think RVN is shit? Get a grip lad. I dont like him - yes - but he is clearly world class. Maybe you should try to base your opinion of a player on his ability and not on the fact he plays for our biggest rivals (thats what everton do).

I suppose you think Beckham is shite, and Pires/Ljungberg/Henry are shite too?
