To be fair to them, all they know about Rafa is retrospective and therefore they won't have as much knowledge about him as us. They've obviously been fed things by those inside of the club in relation to him and it means all they know about him is from what people say and that's never a good way to make a judgement.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Tom Werner  quote    " we believe in Roy "  i got a feeling he is here till the summer at the earliest,  poor reference to one away win from Rafa in 2010

Werner "no one is happy with performance, we believe in what Roy is doing, even under Rafa we only had one away win this year"

'tis a fair point, although Rafa got sacked for that, so why isn't Roy...because he probably deserves some time.
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

A Little bit hurt to hear Werner say he expects a 'slow, steady, healthy improvement' from us, in the same week they blow 300,000,000 on the sox.
Why?

Slow steady healthy improvement is exactly why the sox can do that.

They will not say anything we really want to hear about Hodgson. Best case is that they say we will judge him on future results blah blah blah. Anyone who thinks otherwise will be dissapointed and to be frank they shouldn't say much more.

I know mate, but we can hope, and you never know we may here a Ratnor-esque slip of the tongue somewhere.

Think that answer was basically a 'buck up Roy or you're out, so expect him to be under real scrutiny at Blackpool.

They can't throw Roy to the dogs, they have to back him or sack him.

Now personally I would sack him now, but that's going to happen eventually anyway.

Look, they're not going to come out and say "if we lose the next game We'll sack Roy" or some such thing, they know things have to improve, and I reckon if they don't then Roy will be gone. All he can do is buy himself more time via the team winning a few on the trot. IMO he won't be our manager next season.

Thought he handled that question rather well. I expected him to say give it all roy is the right man and that they have patience in him, but he said that nobody is happy with the performances and that they definately need to improve.

Don't need to bring Rafa into it the equation though. Why not compare him to Rafa's 08/09 season?

Why?

Slow steady healthy improvement is exactly why the sox can do that.

mate i agree we do need a steady improvement, i also think we need a big step to be taken now, to keep us in touch with the Manchester City, and Spudz of the league, else we risk taking a large step back with the loss the likes of Torres and Reina, who may not want to bide 3-4 years of their careers with a slow steady grower of a mid table team.

Hi John/Tom,

I know your still getting to grips with this sport so let me try to explain how we are playing at the moment. Imagine your naked. Imagine your crouching down into a seated position on an invisable chair. Imagine your balls hanging down. Imagine someone getting a wet teatowel and spinning it into a sturdy rope like whip. Imagine that whip being whooshed and snapped against your innocent little nutsack over and over. Imagine the pain rising up your groin and into your stomach. Lock that pain in you imagination. That sums our football up I rekon.

Personally I think they know how highly Rafa is regarded by us and they are saying "look even Rafa only managed one win, so we have to give roy a chance."

I don't agree, but they are not stupid enough to blame this on Rafa.

Well of curse they won't say that roy haves until summer to improve or he will be sacked,

They believe in what Roy is doing until the summer if the results don't show up they will stop believing, Simple.

Don't You worry or spread panic, They won't sacrifice their money on someone who doesn't deliver.

The "we believe in Roy" is a political version for "if the results are good he will stay otherwise he can fuck off"

I keep thinking Tom's holding Ian's hand.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.
