Hit 'em up certainly stands out, just because you can really feel the anger in it. I'm not actually a big fan of Pac for that reason tho - he's one angry motherfucker. Way too angry for me. I don't really like diss tracks for the same reason but one that stands out for me is Nail in the Coffin.. it's like a calculated character assassination.. Eminem on top form, that one.

Haha quality tune I think this is better than Ether though as a diss. I love Biggies music but Pac pisses all over him (not literally).

"You copy my style, 5 shots couldnt drop me I took it and smiled :)"

In all honest Biggie was superior to Pac when it came to lyricism and flow.

Ether is the best diss track ever by many thousand miles, it just is.

Yeah Em vs. Benzino wasn't even a contest. Em killed him on that;

"So how can he hold me over some balcony // without throwin his lower back out as soon as he goes to lift me // Please dont, you'll probably fall with me and our asses will both be history // But then again youl'll finally get your wish // cuz youl be all over the street like 50 Cent"

Looking forward to King Mathers.

Sure Biggie could "flow" better but Pac spoke about actual issues and was the better musician. Pac was the fucking truth

Alright lads. For those who dont know - Foreign Exchange is made up of Phonte (one of the MCs from Little Brother - who is fucking unreal) and a phenomenal Dutch producer, known as Nicolay. Their first album (I think it is called Connected) was absolutely immense and although I am just finishing downloading this one, Im sure it is fire. The second I saw it - I had to make sure that the RAWK community got it. Cheers

I hate Little Brother for some strange reason infact today after a conversation with one of my boys I realised I hate more rappers thenI rate.

Also decided to stick Cassidy-Nuttin but freestyles on Sunday night forgot how good the guy was and why Nas,Ghost Face and Krs said he would be the next hiphop heavy weight.. Its alright though he can make his own music now he is on a independent label

A review of the Foreign Exchange album. It is indeed not a "rap" album. One for the "older"/mature folks. Rnbish indeed. 50 could argue that this was too rnb to compete with

Finally got round to listening to T.Is Paper Trail and Games L.A.X albums, I forgot I had them to be honest. AnywayI loved T.Is album actually. Some great tunes on that but one thing id like to know is what has happened to him that is so bad? He talks a lot about how hard his life has been (join the club fella) and talking about going to jail? What did he do like? Songs I really liked were No matter what & Ready for whatever. Though I enjoyed the whole album really. Good stuff.

Games album, I dont know how old it is to be honest but I didnt really like it. Im not a fan of Games, stop sucking 2pac, Biggie, Eazy E and any other c*nt you mention constantlys cock mate. Its boring. It seems nearly every song I hear by him (ok slight exaggeration) where he mentions one of them or how big his wheels, sorry "rims" on his car are. I liked his first album, but he started to grate on me by the 2nd, and I cant stand him now. Songs i did like though was My life mostly because of the Lil Wayne hook, Dope Boys was alright as well. I didnt expect much from that album and it didnt really suprise me.

Not saying Games shite, but hes not my thing like. Like I said its the constant mentioning of 2pac, Biggie, Dr Dre, Eazy E and more that irritates me.
Mirra, 7777 wake up the thread needs you!

From Wikipedia

On October 13, 2007, federal authorities arrested T.I. four hours before the BET Hip-Hop Awards. He was charged with two felonies — possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. The arrest was made in the parking lot of a downtown shopping center, which a witness identified as the Walgreens drug store at the corner of North and Piedmont Avenues. Harris was arrested after allegedly trying to purchase the guns from a "cooperating witness" with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. According to federal officials, the witness had been cooperating with authorities since Wednesday, when he was arrested on charges of trying to purchase guns from a federal agent. The witness had been working as Harris' bodyguard since July, authorities said. T.I. walked out of the courthouse in downtown Atlanta on October 26, 2007 after posting a $3 million bond, $2 million in cash and $1 million in equity on property he owns. The rapper was required to remain at home except for medical appointments and court appearances. The only people allowed to live with him were his girlfriend and children. Visitors were required to be approved by the court. T.I.'s suppression hearing was originally stated for January 3, 2008; however, U.S. Magistrate Alan Baverman pushed back the suppression hearing until February 19, 2008. The performer later pleaded guilty to US federal weapons charges. He served a year in jail after completing 1,000 hours of community service.

Cheers for that mate....I'll be honest I'm looking forward to it, and Love Lockdown has grown on me a lot. Hard to say how it will turn out, I though Graduation was average in comparison to CD and LR (great album on its own) and I don't think using Auto-tune in every song was the right thing to do, but who am I to say, it could be genius.

Interesting he says he's putting out another one next June. Maybe that's the true successor to Graduation and this is more experimental stuff.

Haven't read through the thread, so apologies for posting solely on the basis of the thread title!!

Just think that 'Giggs' a London (Peckham aka Pecknam aka Pecknarm) rapper deserves a lot of respect for what he has achieved in '08.
Regardless if you have time for rap/hip-hop or even uk hip-hop, I think this guy deserves a lot of respect. Sold a whole heap of albums in HMV, Tesco, Asda and the like, running close 100,000 I believe and this with no advertising or street team, just simply off of the hype surrounding him and of course the obligatory myspace and youtube websites.

I don't listen to hip-hop too much anymore, it began to lose its way for me in about '99/2000 (talking US rap here), it all became the sameish and more about the videos and money, than the music, but thats another topic completely........sorry I digress......
I have a good bearing on what is going on in the UK scene (as my bro is an aspiring uk rap artist or street narrator as he calls himself who has a song on the Adulthood soundtrack and the longest played track in the film too!!) and dont like much that comes out, apart from a few select names, but Giggs has really taken it to a different level, and what makes it more serious is that everything he talks about is REAL....not bullshit and rhymes, but real life. Put it like this, he put one of my brothers co-d's in intensive care with 3 blasts from a sawn off shottie.

No Joke, he and his Peckham (or 'Pecknam' as in Vietnam, as we know it down here, its so bloody violent down there, no more del boys hanging around I tell ya!) crew are real serious.

His style is so raw and explicit and his actual flow is quite nonchalant almost as if he cant be bothered to put in any effort, and is just stating facts instead of rhyming.

"if i catch ur pussyface ima stan smith it" - I love that line.................from Tempa Tempa

"Feds arrest me, dont wanna me let me live,
my performance, they don't wanna let me spit,
(they banned him from performing due to crowds getting too hyped up by his tunes)
but when I swallow food(drugs) they wanna let me shit"  - Love that realness right there!

"Walk in the party, sporting Armani,

The album is called 'A Walk in Da Park' and he has numerous and I MEAN numerous mixtapes out on the streets, such as Hollowman and Ard Bodied to name a couple.

If you really want to do something, you will find a way. If you don't, you will find an excuse.

A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.

That Q Tip album, upon first listen, is fucking good IMO. A track back to the old school and a return of my boy D'Angelo. Thanks for that Johnny and also for the Last Emperor album - I havent listened to him for years so that was a great throw back. Im downloading the Dela album and hoping that it is as good as the Tip one.
If it acts like a cock and a banner appears on the kop with its name written down the shaft of a cock, it probably is...
