the damage was done when we dropped out of the champions league, dropping out of european football for a season wont affect the long term future of the club.

There would be nothing lucky about getting 5th.If Hodgson had'nt of got his hands on the club and Kenny had been in charge for the whole season not only would we already be in the Top 5 we would im sure be in the battle for 4th.

Not having all this ''its best to be out of Europe'' stuff either.Next season we will have a better squad with more depth so we will cope with more games.

Would you still feel the same if the team 2pts behind us in 7th qualified for the Europa and we didn't? Would you still be as relaxed about it if the Bluenoses qualified for Europe at our expense?

We belong in Europe. Who cares whether it is on Channel 5 or just on Radio. It is our heritage.

If we finish 5th or even 4th it won't be because we have scraped in, it will be because "at the end of the season they add up all the points" and that is where we are.

Perhaps we should make an addendum to the old mantra of "Liverpool football cub exists to win trophies; Except for the Europa League, because we're bigger than that now and besides it's not a good enough trophy anyways. Let's just fuck it off all together, because players won't want to come here and play for us when we're in the Europa League".
