Not really true from my experience in 3vs3 (non-ranked). It helps having a more defensive-minded player in the team or having a team where people are using their brain and are staying a bit further back when there are already two people upfront. You still rarely concede goals from long-shots and I've never seen a team getting crushed because of not having a dedicated goalie.

3v3 is a different animal compared to 2v2.

It's semantics really, having a dedicated goalie doesn't mean he's glued to the line... but generally hangs around the goal and joins in on counter attacks.

But there are people in 3v3 who never move away from the line and literally stay IN goal... I think those are the people Smiff was talking about...

had a rather decent game today, 1260 points, 6 goals

got the helen's pride trophy for six goals in a game and thought it would be rare enough, 54% of people already have it

It's pretty easy 1v1, I think you can get it against the weaker AI during a league season too.

It's how I like to play. Just play between the goal-line and the halfway and wait for any loose balls to take pot shots from. So satisfying.

Perfect for aerials too.

If you're aggressive player, it's terrible. But I find they actually create opportunities for me a fair bit. Then they wonder why I'm getting all the goals and they're getting none.

Alright lads.

I'm part of a gaming community that's putting together a friendly rocket league 3v3 tournament. It's a PC gaming community and as far as i'm aware we can't get ps4 users involved currently (although we're very interested if it gets implemented if in game friends cross platform do get introduced in the future). We've got 3 teams (at least 2 more lined up potentially) and would like to get a couple more up

So if Rawk pc Gamers want to enter a team or 2 let me know in this thread, or send me a pm.

I'll post up some details about it very soon for everyone to check out but we have a casting team in place for it who were heavily involved in our DOTA 2 tournament earlier this year where the winners shared a £130 prize pool.

This compo won' t have a prize pool like the Dota 2 tournament but we may be looking at that if this takes off and we can get a league sorted over a certain amount of weeks if this is a success.

If you're interested, PC gamers, let me know.

On PS4 does anybody else have their sound just cut out in the game completely. Sound in the PSN menu etc still works so it's not an issue with my setup.

It just goes at the start of a match and doesn't come back.

It was a bug that came with the new update. Happens sometimes but not that often.

love RL but ranked games, with randoms, are the worst idea ever. played for 3 hours the other night, scored a sack of goals but lost every single game, couldn't even fluke a victory

im a decent player played my first ever ranked games a few days ago 3v3 and won 7 lost 1 and most games i done nothing....just luck who you get half the time

Just bought it. Very addictive. Just played 4 games. An assist and a goal in each of them. A couple of saves and shots. Nice game. Like it so far.

Made $50 million, cost only $2 million to develop and was released free on PS Plus too. Incredible success.

That's good, i've been playing still once every few days. Still great to relax to.

Some of the free updates have helped with longevity, mutators/a non standard map. Just hope we get more and more different maps that aren't all the samr

Hopefully we get it with Games with Gold but I'd be up for paying for it. I also hope we get some game tie ins like the Warthog from Halo and stuff like that, would be cool

Short answer - 2v2 or 3v3.

4v4 is chaotic as the name says, you hardly have any time on the ball. 1v1 is constant driving back and forth.

I think 2v2 or 3v3 are the best, especially when you have a game when somebody sits back and defends allowing the others to push up.

I find 4v4 the most fun because of how mad it is, I don't really play it seriously, so a few games of total chaos is all I really want.

The Rocket labs stuff is good too, no idea why they removed the older ones too though, like the ice puck game, or the low gravity/small ball/time warp
