Aww, man. Gakpo, just kick it in the fucking net and then let Taylor explain why he blew up. No goal kick. No foul. No free kick. No encroachment.
Dumbo Taylor would probably have shown Gapko the yellow.

Can anyone somehow explain why the referee blew when Gakpo was about to put the ball into the net?

Did the referee wave for an advantage then changed his mind when he thought the keeper wasn’t fit to play on? That’s about as close I can get to a plausible answer. However there was no foul and it looks like the keeper threw the ball down and then stopped to pull up his socks. I’d love to hear a decent answer as I am completely stumped and it just looks like the referee made it up on the sport.

If the referee was playing advantage then both of his arms would point forwards towards our goal and he clearly didn’t do that. Will we get an explanation?

Made up.

How about the times they do win the ball high up the pitch?

As for City is that the team who play with Haaland as a out and out 9 who rarely gets involved in the build up.?

I did say they win the ball high up the pitch a lot. I personally wouldn't trust Nunez's decision making when we do.

Secondly, Haaland will probably be Premier League top scorer two seasons in a row. If Nunez was hitting those numbers nobody would care if the ball came off his shins in the build-up.

And I dare someone to say Haaland gets more chances  ::)

I think his time with Liverpool is up, but not because of the nonsense today. It's a storm in teacup. Only newsworthy because it's Liverpool and Klopp.

Mad that someone was able to keep filming that while WHU scored against us.

My goodness how good is Stamkos?

Wonder where he goes in the summer. Might be hard for Tampa to keep him and apparently negotations haven't gone too well.

There's frustration everywhere isn't there. Everyone's a bit sickened from the fans to the players to the management team. Salah is getting a touch because he's as far away as my first shite from where we need him to be and are used to him being.
I don't get this the attack is better than the defense or vice versa argument anyway. The defending side of our game is the whole team, from the forwards. If we're leaking goals it's on everyone. It causes countless arguments in dressing rooms and all. The amount of times there's an argument at half time or full time about where the problem came from is nuts, everyone blaming everyone.  If we're not scoring goals it tends to be the strikers misfiring so it's highlighted more and easier to pin on 1 player and call them a useless bastard.
Just get the season over now, I think we all need a break. Salah has been exemplary for us. He can be forgiven a little tantrum

Sorry I have to disagree. Salah has started to act like he is a player who should not be dropped and that he is the main man; a player Liverpool cannot do without.  No player is bigger than the club and IMO it is time to think about getting a big fee for Salah and saying goodbye. Another poster mentioned "Bob P" and how he was not huge on sentiment  - that ruthlessness meant Liverpool were successful and that is what is needed now IMO.

Jonathan Pearce on MOTD has clearly received a phone call and asked to say that Taylor noticed that Areola had an injury.
Not sure if commentary is live or recorded afterwards, but there is absolutely no way Pearce makes that comment in game time. No one else had a clue what was going on.
Another reason for the audio to be made available either during the game, or handed over immediately after each and every game to both clubs, so they can assess etc.
Do not allow the PGMOL time to influence, adjust, contact media etc. Allow teams to hear it in game and hand it over after every game. It is the only way to improve standards.

They need to be mic'd up. We need to hear them in real time.

Huh? The first half was… well, deader than the eponymous dead horse.
Lower or upper?

This summed it up for me.

We allowed an employee to be assaulted by an official.

You're right. This and the Spurs game bring them in to disrepute and clearly show PGMOL are not fit for purpose. I've said it before, but it's time for a root and branch reboot of the whole thing. It's a cartel that needs to be broken up. The audio from the Spurs game was damning, but met with a shrug of the shoulders. How bad does it need to get?
