Whose line is it anyway
« on: March 2, 2013, 11:27:23 am »
Sorry if it's already been posted. Saw this on reddit and had to bash it up here.

The improv show some (most I hope) of you will remember from the 90's is making a return! And it's going to have most of the original cast apart from Drew Carey (Which is a shame I think). Lana from Archer/Aisha Tyler is going to be hosting the new one.

News article with CM's tweet confirming that the shows coming back - http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/03/01/whose-line-is-it-anyway-returns/

It was one of my favourite shows as a kid, I really do hope they can bring it back successfully. I always preferred the US version to the UK one.

Anyone else excited by the news?  :wave

2013 version should be called 'Who's stripe is it anyway', surely!

Forgot to add - I would never, and I mean ever, tire of smashing Tony Slattery in the face with a 3 pound Ball-Pein Hammer.

John Sessions - I'd just shoot. With a Bear.

Stiles is quality but Mochrie was always my favourite. When you first see him you'd never think he was funny. His little sad balding face is forever burnt into the back of my mind. And the clothes they'd both wear! Dear me. Wayne brady was always quality also, he just seemed to be able to do anything, proper improv machine. Don't think I ever remember him messing up.

Haha Chopper, good one! You never know.

Tony Slattery has suffered from very severe bouts of mental illness over the last 10 years or so, so I'm not sure it will be an issue.

Much preferred the UK original which I grew up watching. Clive Anderson made a better host for me than Drew Carey.

Loved both Stiles and Mochrie and would struggle to say who'd I'd rather see as both were brilliant individually but put them together and they were unbeatable. So many times I laughed myself to the point my throat was sore, especially when they did games like the sound effects or translation. Ah, good times.

I dunno I think Drew Carey was good, wasn't great when he had to do improv but his laugh was contagious! Also had some good one liners to boot out.

Hahaha the sound effects rounds were quality!! Always the weirdest suburban middle aged women picked out haha. Tarzan one was quality.

Like you say though, put them together and you're in for a treat!

Wayne Brady?  The musical section will never be the same without him.
Someone should do the right thing - go back in time to 1992 and destroy the codes to Championship Manager before it is ever released

Just watched the first one that randomly came up on YouTube and it was a cracker - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIIJ7PNpXCc

Colin and Ryan bit around 9.10 very very good but nearly all of it made me laugh a lot, as did the Colin doing the 'Dead Bodies' game.

Remember seeing Greg Proops live in the 90's and he did a little bit about the difference between doing Who's Line in the UK and doing it in the US.

In the UK they'd say, "Saw you on that show last night. You were shit".

In the US they'd say, "Saw you on that show last night. Man, how does that scoring system work?".
