Love the lad but I would not be surprised if an offer came in from Sunny Spain and he left. I do suspect there is an element of him not quite settling in the UK on top of wholesome changes from the management/coaching side may play a part.

I think we will miss something if he goes, mainly an energy and creating something out of sheer willingness to chase a lost cause which is something a lot of the online fans don’t fully appreciate.

Doubt that we will get Coutinho type money from Barca but if we get something then it’ll help with the rebuild.

Also, I think getting in to the habit of playing ring of fire and allez allez allez before YNWA every game is a bad move. It’s manufacturing the atmosphere and forcing it rather than letting it form organically. YNWA is what it is but it feels like everything is becoming so contrived.

Ok, it’s 6 minutes before kick off, get your phones and/or scarves out ready everyone, here we go!

(Still better than ACDC)

I’ve been asking the same questions about him all season, absolutely nothing has happened since to make me think twice about that either.

That said, some of the shit people are saying online about him is just totally out of order. He’s a likeable lad whose trying his best, remains to be seen whether that will be good enough or not but either way get behind him whilst he’s still trying.

Gravenberch, Morton and Carvalho no longer qualify for the U21 lists the upcoming season.
Quansah, Elliott, Bradley and Ramsay won't qualify as U21 the season after.
Add Sepp van den Berg on top of the rest of the seniors and that makes a 25 man squad.

Before we sign anyone new on a 5 year contract we need to know who among that 25 will make way in the next 15 months.

Next season (Free Spaces: 4)

Alisson, Kelleher, Jaros
Trent, Bradley*, Robertson, Tsimikas, van Dijk, Konate, Gomez, Quansah*, Van den Berg , Ramsay*
Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Gravenberch, Endo, Elliott*, Clark*, Bajcetic*, McConnell*
Nuñez, Gakpo, Salah, Diaz, Jota, Carvalho , Doak*, Gordon*, Danns*, Koumas*

Season After (Free Spaces: 0)
Alisson, Kelleher, Jaros
Trent, Bradley, Robertson, Tsimikas, van Dijk, Konate, Gomez, Quansah, Van den Berg , Ramsay
Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Gravenberch, Endo, Elliott, Clark*, Bajcetic*, McConnell*
Nuñez, Gakpo, Salah, Diaz, Jota, Carvalho , Doak*, Gordon*, Danns*, Koumas*

2 Seasons After (Free Spaces: -3)
Alisson, Kelleher, Jaros
Trent, Bradley, Robertson, Tsimikas, van Dijk, Konate, Gomez, Quansah, Van den Berg , Ramsay
Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Gravenberch, Endo, Elliott, Clark*, Bajcetic, McConnell
Nuñez, Gakpo, Salah, Diaz, Jota, Carvalho , Doak*, Gordon, Danns*, Koumas*

If you use that as a basis, and assume 2 signings per season, we don’t need to sell this summer, need to sell 4 by next year and 9 by the season after.

The departures likely come from Kelleher, Jaros, Tsimikas, Ramsay, Van den Berg, Endo, McConnell, Salah, Carvalho, Gordon whether sold by / loaned in that 3rd season, with 4 gone by the start of 2025/26. 1 of that group could stay for that season, or we could sign at a slower rate if we rate their chances.

Seems easily solved for next as Ramsay, McConnell and Gordon could be loaned out still for then, so only 1 would need to be sold which could be whichever best suits the circumstances around the player (most likely Kelleher, Jaros or Tsimikas for me). I’m assuming the ones you list as sold/loaned are and Morton too.

After that season you’d start to see older players like Robertson and van Dijk move on I think, although they could still be here.

It’s fine we have the hospitality seats in the ARU, things have changed and that’s how it is. It’s also fine that people will use them to go to one off games, I get it. But FFS, put your phones away and stop filming everything and video calling your mates at home (how are you even getting a signal?!). And seriously, you’ve presumably seen football before and know where the away fans are based at Anfield? So when the opposition goalkeepers come out to warm up and the away fans start applauding them don’t copy them thinking it’s Alisson and Kelleher coming out.

It’s a weird mix up there, you’ve got people at the back really up for it then large groups of people paying a fortune for a one off game and they’re totally out of touch with everything or obsessed with filming it all.

He’ll get 10 goals and 10 assists next season too if we keep him. Which suggests we should! I’d not be giving him a new contract though.

It’s quite damming he’s being outperformed by Jackson from Chelsea in a team of youngsters that have been thrown together to be honest

He’s a likeable lad but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him head abroad in the summer

In an ideal world for me Slot makes him some kind of a 10. He's never going to be in a double pivot and needs to show a bit more grit as a fullback. Thing is I don't think he wants to play as a fullback.
I’m curious as to why people think he can’t be in a double pivot?

Emerson Royal had a mare, he still hasn't left his session with the psychiatrist. Salah was afforded so much space from midfield to their end.
