I think we are looking it the wrong way around...... we have afar better chance of winning the up rather than any chance of winning the league.
Even if we beat the plastics we're still not going to win the league..... and we have half the season to still make top 4. Even a better chance when European football starts again for the other teams.

We should've played the strongest team today... to progress and get some confidence

Can see why Ojo wasn't in the line up. I think Jurgen likes players to play to their strengths and Ojo didn't quite do that in the last couple of games in terms of taking players on. I think Jurgen is just taking him out of the firing line for a period to let him get his bearings back and come back stronger.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Let's hope a completely different side can create a completely different perspective and a completely different result will emerge.

I'll be completely surprised if we don't complete this tie today. 2-0 to the Reds.

It may be unlikely I don't think anyone will catch them but you don't give up on it. What if we go and beat Chelsea and then Arsenal do. They have to go to Old Trafford and if things went our way we would look pretty stupid.

Anyone know how close that Wolves side is to 1st choice.
I always said we had the best two teams on Merseyside… Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves.

Read your post, oh by the way please back off re the smart arse!

Did you read his post gatcliffe? Because he didnt say that.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Read your post, oh by the way please back off re the smart arse!

I know what I wrote.  Is it not possible to have a creative midfield which includes a player who you may not think is the most creative?  The midfield I've picked has more creativity than the one including Lucas and Stewart.  Don't know why that is so hard to understand

He was great in the replay against Plymouth and his recent interview mentioned the praise that Klopp gave him after the match.  I don't think a player having played about 90 minutes over the past 6 months needs to be taken out of the firing line.  I'd think he needs to be put in it.

Fellers saying this:

We wont play with a ten. Not one of those midfielders is capable of playing that role properly. I would guess we will try to get numbers in the middle with Edwards breaking.

If Cav isnt injured, i think its disgraceful he isnt on the bench at least. Apart from Costa, we have very little creativity there.

Surprised we've not gone with Cavaleiro on the bench. Having two quality players on both wings means that Costa won't be doubled up on.

If they mark Costa out of the game we'll struggle.

They're gonna park the bus and counterattack like everyone else by the sound of that.

Chance for a couple of lads to really nail down a solid Squad position here. Glad Lambert said they would attack should make for a decent game.

A good test to show if the squad is good enough. Now is the time to show it, it could be the last time for a lot of these players to prove if they've got what it takes before they're shipped out.

Surprised to see Randall starting and that Ojo isn't involved.  Can only assume Alexander-Arnold is injured for this one for him not to be playing.

Just need a good performance and a result to get some confidence back, hopefully Lucas can keep us organised in midfield and we get the ball forward quickly to the attack.

Little bit surprised to see neither Clyne nor TAA at right back, though its good to see Randall back in it. One suspects the Clyne is not quite ready to be involved, and that perhaps TAA is being kept fresh for the Chelsea game. Rest of the starting lineup reasonably predictable. Lucas is a calm head with leadership and I expect he'll captain the side. I think there's enough attacking threat there with Woodburn, Firmino, Origi all capable of scoring goals, and the likes of Moreno, Wijnaldum and Ejaria likely to get into advanced positions and capable of creating something for us. Would like to see Wilson get some minutes too. Will be an intriguing game.

In Klopp's press conference yesterday he wasn't too sure if he should be risked because of the stitches. So I guess its wait and see. I would prefer him to rest today and be fit for Chelsea.
My apologies, missed the presser so hadn't heard the update on him.

Doesn't make the bench....hopefully he'll he ready for Tuesday and hopefully he plays in the middle! :wave

Is it a diamond? With Woodburn the Attacking Midfielder? Ejaria and Wijnaldum Central midfielders, and Lucas the defensive midfielder? 2 attacking wingbacks? And Origi and Bobbie up front?
