Wigan's 2-1 victory over Liverpool when the sides last met in March was their first-ever win at Anfield.
The Reds have failed to beat Wigan in their last five league meetings (L2, D3).

Interesting move to bring Pepe back, especially after the reports about Brendan uhmming and ahhhing over how long it'd take to bring him back. I've got a feeling we'll give this lot a pasting this arvo.

I'd be sorely disappointed if we played 3 at the back against Wigan. I don't really think it worked against Chelsea ; our better football was played in the second half when we adapted our formation.

15 - As I take over, Wigan are enjoying a good spell. Nothing come of it yet though, as Johnson hassles Figueroa into touch.

17 - Not much doing. Enrique tumbles in the box, but nothing doing, and the ball stays in. Soon after, Johnson flashes in a cross wihch is poked out for a Liverpool corner. It comes to Gerrard at the back post but is easily cleared.

20 - Free kick from the right, Gerrard to take. A lot of argy and bargy. Gerrard swings in a dangerous ball but McCarthy does well to poke it over his own bar.

21 - More argy and bargy, Agger and Caldwell called over by the referee for a talking to before the corner. Headed clear to Johnson on the top of the box, whose shot is blocked for another corner. Agger meets it but it's well over the bar.

22 - Suarez brought down on the edge of the box. He might have liked a free kick from there, a decent position. However, the ref plays the advantage, and Suso takes a couple of touches before lashing a decent shot in. Too close to Al Habsi though, who pushes it away with ease at head height.

24 - What did I say about Watson? Swings a great ball in from a free kick which Agger heads behind. The corner is cleared, but Sterling and Watson clash in the air. A free kick is given to Wigan - Watson looks in agony, although I didn't see a foul. Looked 50/50 to me.

28 - FK about to be taken. Watson still receiving treatment, and I'd be shocked to see him again. Ramis takes it, and it clips the top of the wall and goes out for a corner, which is cleared.

38' Good closing down up front, almost got the defender in a spot of trouble but he recovered well.

Figueroa picks up a yellow for a rash tackle on Sterling.

I'm just catching up on the lineup after coming late to the party and it doesn't seem to be working I think.
