Is he singing things off as #deccers?
Have arsenal won the title yet?
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

Wouldn't holding the Top 4 Trophy be more appropriate these days?

We’re spending it now.

Statue is up and looks great . Heres a few stats for you kids who dont know how great Wenger was.

3 premier league titles
7 fa cups (most in history)
First and only team in history to go a whole season unbeaten in 2004
First  (and possibly only team) in history to score in every league game throughout a season in 2002.
49 consecutive league games unbeaten, record that still stands now
83 academy players given their debuts in the first team.

And did it all while playing incredible football, and while selling his best players to fund a new stadium. It does put modern day cheque book oil backed managers to shame.

Not a frequent visitor of this thread...but I suppose Arsenal aren't going anywhere and look like they want to push forward on their project so will be a threat for a while. Apart from some funny YouTube vids on their fans have not paid much attention to them as a team, even last year...
All I know is saka, martinelli look like a handful to defend and maybe they don't get bullied as much by opposition as before and have improved mentally as a team.

I do admire the way they are backing their manager......now its upto him and his players to deliver silverware which is never a guarantee.

Definitely would like to knock them down a peg or two when we play them however

Do t think anyone’s denying you sold your best players quite consistently and spending was hampered for a while by the move to the Emirates. But most of the accolades you listed, certainly the titles were done before he had to sell them.

He maybe would have win more had you not moved. He was a genius. But who of those players did he sell when you and United were the top two? Only Petit and Overmars I think? Think that was about 99 or 2000 and you did still spend a bit on replacements back then. Oh, and Anelka too. But that was more a case of him wanting out or having his head turned by Real wasn’t it?

London Colney training ground was built with the Anelka money. We lost Paul Merson because middlesborough could give him more wages, Silvinho who was an absolute star went to Barca. These moves arent well known because of the success went on to have, but its not something a Chelsea/city/united manager would ever have to deal with.
Wenger had to balance the books from day 1, it got harder when the expenditure included repaying stadium loans and when the french and african markets became well scouted which wasnt the case when he first joined (only one European scout at the african nations cup, arsenals), but even though he won 10 trophies (excluding community shields). Some try to downplay it, by comparing that success to unlimited funds managers he had to compete with.
Outside the Leicester crazy season, the only other manager that balanced the books and won is klopp. The rest did not compete on a level playing field.

I think 1 of the the most frustrating 1 was the failure to really kick in and eventual break up of the 2007/8 team.

We had lost guys like Henry, Pires, Ljungberg, Reyes from the invincibles, but replaced them well and led the league for 2/3 of the season before the famous Eduardo injury and implosion.

Team / Squad had the likes of Lehmann, Sagna, Gallas, Toure, Clichy, Diaby, Diarra, Gilberto, Flamini, Cesc, Hleb, Rosicky, Adebayor, Eduardo, Van Persie, Walcott.

A lot of talent there, and you would say add a couple of players to that and that should be competing for a few years.
You just felt we were always replacing rather than adding, we lost Lehman, Hleb, Flamini and Gilberto and added the likes of Narsi, Ramsey and Arshavin.

But we never seemed to get a settled team. Eduardo, Rosicky, Diaby, Van Persie all suffered horrible injury luck, and that continued with the likes of Ramsey, Wilshere and Vermaelen going forward each of them missing at least a full season and never really returning to the player they were pre injury.

And of course the Sheikh arrived at City and started to buy our players, players were getting restless at not competing at the top of the table and were getting their head turned by more money and different opportunity elsewhere.

We were regressing and losing players and it basically all came to a head by the start of 2011 season when we lost Cesc and Nasri within weeks and lost at Old Trafford 8-2. That forced Wenger into a spend and he bought the likes of Mertesacker, Arteta in a end of window transfer panic.

Abramovich bought chelsea before the invincibles season, and united youth were a myth, they were breaking transfer records every season with the likes of Cole, Yorke, Rio, Veron, RVN etc etc . They were the man city of now, but with money they generated themselves so no complaints . Although city never managed to buy the referees like united did, but thats another story.

I genuinely have affection for him, the players he signed and the football you played. It was other worldly at times. Still, will never forgive you for the 4-4 at Anfield when you had about four shots on target and we were going for the league!

It's a pity they could never go that further step to undoubted greatness by winning the Champions League

When we finally win CL, the manager that does it will owe so much to wenger. Hes our Shankly, who too is an undoubted great without winning CL. We are now spending 100m on a player because of all the work wenger has done.
One dimensional fans will only count the trophies, the truth is much deeper than that.

Banks wouldn’t even give us a loan to build the new stadium unless wenger signed a new contract. Without him we would be Spurs.

Wenger failed year after year in Europe, a very good manager PL yes, but not comprable to a manager who’s done what Klopp has done in Europe.

Did Liverpool fans mercilessly boo Rafa during matches?
